Ok The guy that is going to install my Continental DW tires wants clarification for the cars warranty. Does changing the tire size void your warranty. He says if something were to go wrong with the car the dealer could say"You changed the tire size". Do any of you know about this happening. He says you never want to change the cars tire size for this reason. He also wanted me to call Nissan directly about doing something like this. Now I don't know if its worth the hassel.

I called a tire place that installs in my city and he said that the Continentals are only for the back tires. He said the cars computer system may get messed up if you change the tire size that isn't standard with the cars system. Am I wasting my money by changing the tires?
I have Conti DWS on front and rear wheels (245/40/19 & 285/35/19). I don't think the sales guy was being completely honest with you.

Installers do this to cover themselves, not you. There are more and more places that won't install anything except for exact mfg spec. sizes. If you bring in wheels by themselves most installers will put anything on.

Yes onzedge This installer doesn't want to put these tires on my car. But, no one has answered what if something goes wrong with the car. Will the dealership say you changed the tire size so the warranty is void.

if the dealership says that to you. sue them. cus thats bs. they cant/wont say that to you. unless, the problem you have is something to do with your wheels and the guy who installed your tires messed something up.

You don't need to worry about warranty issues for a small change in tire size.

They are likely confused because in a Subaru you can VERY easily void your warranty by putting on tires that aren't exactly the same (tread depth within 2/32's, same brand, etc). You'll blow out your center diff pretty promptly, and the dealer will give you nothing but a nasty look. These guys are just covering their tails just in case.

One more question to all you proud Z owners who want a quieter ride. In comparing Continental DW and DWS which would ride better?

I've got the DWS and they're pretty quiet but not sure compared to DW. I would only get DWS if you'll ever be driving in low temps or light snow and maybe a little better tread wear.

Thanks for your reply Tasoline. I have a base model. Do you think changing the front tire size will greatly effect the car. The tires I'm looking at are 18/245.
