I like them both, although I think I like the Nismo wheels a little better. The "dish" look of the rears is nice looking. Our sport wheels are nothing to sneeze at, Rays forged. I agree with the previous poster, this is one of the first cars in recent years I have purchased that I didn't feel the need to change out the wheels.

I like them, but would only buy them used. If you're going to spend the money, might as well get something aftermarket.

Anyone else think the 370Z NISMO looks like a Porsche?

...I don't like it too much

i absolutely love the 370z nismo wheels. i've never driven a nissan before and have a question for all you nissan fans out there: i want to order a 370z sport, but i want to get the nismo wheels. does anyone know if i have to pay for the stock wheels, or can i just pay for the car and the nismo wheels in one transaction?

otherwise it would be such a pain to have to sell the stock wheels on craigslist after the fact...

These rims work very well with the car!
Especially because of the body kit, I think that they did a good job trying to accomodate it with these rims.

Yes Nissan makes some sick stock rims. Love the rear concavity

I think you will almost certainly need to buy the Sport car and have the wheels swapped for Nismo wheels (whenever they decide to start providing those, at whatever cost). The alternative, of course, is to buy the Nismo and take a bunch of crap off it. Unfortunately, the Nismo wheels are not an option for the standard car.

What manufacturers have done is reduced the number of available option packages. It increases their margins because a) they have fewer different cars to build, inventory, and sell - and - b) because if you want one or two things, you have to jump up to a whole new options package, which just increased their sale. Sucks for us - better for them.

Incidentally, the one thing I'll give GM credit for is that they tried to maintain a lot of flexibility in their options lists. They're learning their lesson from that....

I called the dealership near my house and the parts guy said that although the nismo wheels aren't available yet, when they do go on sale, they'll cost about $1,000 per wheel (not including the tire). Can that be right? That's WAY expensive! Would anyone in their right mind consider spending something like $5,000 just for wheels?

Yes, I believe it. I lot of the forged Rays wheels are going from $600 - $900 each, so I don't doubt the dealer will be selling them for $1000 msrp at first. I would bet that the price will come down after about 6 months of being out. I know the current Nismo forged S-Tune 19" rim that is out can be had for $1800.00 a set. So I would think the new factory version would be a bit more, maybe could be had for $2200 - $2400 a set.

Remember, the dealer doesn't price them to sell to people who are upgrading all four rims - they price them as spare parts for a Nismo owner who bends a rim or two. Of course the other benefit of the high rim price is that it makes the Nismo look even more exclusive.

I'm sure you can find lower price, lighter weight wheels than the Nismo wheels that you like. I think the Nismos are very very good for a factory part, but if given my absolute choice, there are a few others I'd go for...
