Rear tires gone at 11k
I went to the dealership for an oil change and i mentioned that 3rd gear was bucking. They told me that the rear tires were bald and that they needed to be changed. I baby the car and I never did a burnout, how do they just bald out in so few miles. Any similar experiences?

I wish mine had lasted that long. I changed my wheels and tires and went through a set in 6000 miles. The camber was whey off, so I hope the new set last 10K.

I'm at work but once I get the chance I'll post pictures. I honestly couldn't believe when the dealership told me that 3rd gear bucking was due to bald tires. He told me it was due to burnouts and I told him I refrained from doing burnout or doughnuts because I was saving up for a new set of rims and tires. I even called my mechanic and he even told me that the worst tires could withstand at least 20k miles.

No not yet, I'm gonna get started on that in the summer, but if it was I wouldn't have posted a thread about rear tires lasting me only 11,000 miles. If I have to replace these tires which ones last longer with moderate driving because I'm not planning on replacing tires again until I'm done with my tt kit.

You should realize that buying a performance car with performance tires will require more frequent tire changes. If you're going to put long-lasting all season tires on the car, I'd say you bought the wrong car. You'll be sorry...

FWIW, I'm about to try out the Continental ExtremeContact DW's. They should have better tread life than the OEM Bridgestones and they have been doing very well in the tests I've been seeing.

My stock rears lasted 15k miles, a little over 13 months. My new replacements (same tires) are at about 13k miles and don't have much left.
I guess you gotta pay to play.
