yup, thats why they did it. m3 was like that too.

i have seen people run 245 and 305 v12s, i dont know how that car can ever turn!

Local Firestone store sells the set for $1260 before coupons. I got it down to $1160 out the door last year installed and taxed (6%). I like Firestone because they use the machine that has three arms, guarantee to not scratch the wheels. (so i hope anyway). I remember Bridgestone ran a $100 rebate promo on it in April, think it will happen again?

I can tell you that the Z performs beautifully with spacers (appropriate, stud-replacement spacers). I ran 15f/20r H&R spacers at Road America last fall and the handling was excellent. A little extra track width only helps the Z.

Yeah, I never had any issue with my spacers and I definitely felt a difference with the increased track width.

I think ChrisSlicks ran into an issue with one cracking, though.

I ran them for a while no problem, but after hearing some stories, I will never run spacers on the track again.

Porsche actually sells spacers as an option on their cars. Horror stories come from poor quality or faulty installation. It's like claiming all tires are bad when you hear a story about a Firestone tire exploding and an SUV rolling over.

The more I think about it the more I agree, and the more I get a hard-on thinking I can put some RE-11s on the 5.0 now.

you need long extended studs for spacers, problem is that the best strongest studs are from the factory usually

There is no "best of both worlds" scenario? Companies like Eibach would have to supply high quality materials right? They have a reputation to uphold. Are there a lot of people on this fourm that have had issues?

I've never heard of an extended H&R stud failure before in my life. There is only one case of a spacer failure I have seen and honestly a number of different factors related to or not related to the spacer could have caused it.

After about 30 minutes on Google looking up "wheel hub failures" I seem to only find people in larger vehicles using like 2"+ spacers that seem to have issues, and on top of that it was likely operator error (not tightening and rechecking). H&R even advertises their spacers as adding safety to your vehicle along with better handling... If they knew of possible failure, they'd be pretty stupid to say that.
