Tpms?
Hey everyone, looking for a few words here:
I recently bought a new wheel to replace the one I busted from a small incident a couple months back. Sooner than later, the TPMS came on. I guess I thought it would "match up" and work with the existing sensors but it was just wishful thinking. I've been looking up as much as I can about the TPMS to see if I can do this myself because I feel that the dealer will just wrench out more money from my wallet. They also took off the original valve stem cap so now I have mismatched caps (nothing serious but very annoying...). That's just a OCD thing though. For people with aftermarket wheels, how did you deal with the TPMS issue? Has anyone had stock replacements, etc.? |
Drive on it for at least 20 miles

The TPMS needs to have its ID registered with the ECU to function properly. Any reputable tire & wheel shop should have the required sensor activation tools and will most likely charge a lot less than a Nissan dealer.
I've read some "tricks" on a G35 forum for doing it yourself without the activation tool, but I don't have much faith in what I've read and even if it did work, it would be at your own risk... |
Oh I thought ypu kept ypur existing one
