[FYI] Varrstoen 222 Fitment On Sport Brakes
whats up everyone
we decided to do some test fitting of the Varrstoen 222 on a 370z that was equipped with the Sport Brake package, in this case a 370z Nismo for the 370s that have the big brakes, Varrstoen's recommended fitment of 19x9.5 +22 Front will not work, they wont clear the brakes therefore we decided to try out the 19x9.5 +12 to see if it would fit and here are our results:
something to take into account about our test: the tire on the wheel tried was a Toyo Proxes R888 265/30/19, for this fitment to work a 245 tire width would be necessary we had these 265 tires already mounted on the wheels because they were on our EVO already so we decided to try them on here are the pics of the fitment: Front: Front: Front w/Tire: Rear: Brake caliper clearance: |

I think some was running +22 with a 5mm spacer. Depending on how many turns on your lugs you might be able to get away with out new studs given you don't track them. I usually go for 7 turns minimum.... not a recommendation, just a thought. ..and at ur own risk.

we were using the +12 fitment in the rear
we recommend at least 3-4 mm clearance between the inside of the spoke and the brake caliper, to allow for wheel deflection with a 5mm spacer its a very very very tight fit we recommend at least a 7mm spacer but then the 3mm difference between the +22 fitment with a 7mm spacer and the +12 fitment is so small that it really doesnt make sense because the wheel will be outside the fender either way we prefer to stay away from spacers, thats why we went with the +12 rather than the spacers |

we really love the way the +12 all the way around looks and we'd ever recommend it to the guys with normal brakes
but again this thread is to inform the guys that dont want an aggressive fitment |

Would you say a tire of 245 on the front would sit better than the 265 you had on? Meaning it wouldn't stick out as much if I had 245s than 265?

It will stick out! The 245’s rather than the 265’s is just sidewall thickness. Meaning there is less chance you will not rub against the fender liner but I can’t confirm that. What your wanting to get so your wheels will be flush (not poke out) and not have to run a spacer is 19x9.5 +22 es2H in the fronts..Per Varrstoen due to many customer complaints, issues and concerns with these not clearing the Akibono calipers they made the es2H so that way it clears..only problem is that this model (es2H) was only made in certain colors but then you can always powder coat them to what you would like. Fyi the rears in 19x10.5+12 fit like a charm.
Here is a link of when they where released: http://varrstoen.com/news/es2h-machi...black-19-inch/ Last edited by 1st; 08-04-2015 at 01:41 PM. |
