Dealing with a flat tire
I recently purchased a 2011 370Z and was pleasantly surprised to learn that it contained a temporary spare tire - I was expecting a can of Slime blow-up! However on closer inspection I noticed it was an 18 inch tire whereas the ones on the ground are 19s. I'm certainly no tire expert, but would have expected that all the wheels be the same diameter. I would guess the the temporary 18 could be mounted on the front with no problem as there is no differential to damage. However, putting an 18 on the rear with the same drive shaft with a 19 could cause a problem.
If faced with this situation, my plan would be to put the temporary 18 on the front, and use the good 19 front tire on the rear. Does this sound like a plan? I know that the rear whels can't be mounted on the front, but is there any reason the the front tire couldn't be mounted on the rear? |

The spare wheel and tire combo should be just as tall as the 19in wheel and tire, I am pretty sure thats all that matters. So theres is less wheel but more tire.

Ummm... Not sure. There is no warnings so putting it on the back should be safe for a car with a LSD. I'm sure it fits as well.

Well keep your foot out of it, then! All the spare is designed to do is get you safely to a tire shop.
The offsets are turrible, though:

we need to look good 100% of the time. yah, OP, dont worry about the 18". with the taller profile (sidewall) it's near the 19"s size overall. it's not perfect but it's only meant to be used max 100miles 50mph or something just to get you home or watnot. |
