At least your dealer listened to you. Both sales and service department laughed at my face and degraded me to the lowest level when I told them they were installing the wrong wheel locks. Note this was before AND after the Nissan service bulletin went out. Anyways, I contacted Nissan corporate directly and the dealer is now refunding me my $$$ for the wheel locks that they never installed in the first place.

I just bought a new blue touring sport 7AT. I drove home and the anti theft lug nuts exploded. This just sucks I live 50 miles from the dealer.

Warning: Your dealer is incompetent. (Considering that Nissan issued a TSB to all its dealers warning them of this issue. Seems the people at your dealership are either too stupid or too lazy to read.)

Wow this is crazy that dealerships are clueless, lets hope they aren't anymore.
If I were you guys I'd just get the money back anyways, wheel locks are annoying and barely even slow down/inconvenience a thief. I know this first hand as I lost the key to my locks for my RSX and quickly found a way to get them all off in less than 5 minutes with NO special tools. Broken locking lugnut for me too! Made my brake rotor install tonight a little more interesting.
Ordered a set of the McGard 21153's from Summit Racing (McGard 21153 - McGard Wheel Locks - Overview - SummitRacing.com) before I realized Courtesy had the right part now from Nissan. From what I read in the other thread about the locking lugnuts, the McGrad part should work just fine.

Glad I found this thread. I didn't realize until after the dealer said they broke a locking lug when they took off my wheel (One wheel had curb rash when I bought the car and they replaced it). So they replaced the one with a stock lug. Then I came here and found the issue. Today I had them replace the rest of the 3.
They had no idea that there were 370's out there with incorrect lugs on them. Then a tech came by and he knew about the problem. Luckily only 1 out of the 4 broke when taking off. |

I'm having the same issue...turns out the dealer in Atlanta where I flew to get the car installed the locks for the 350z. My local tire guy WHO I TRUST COMPLETELY tried to balance the tire and broke the first one he tried to take off. Then, he took the others off and they were full of rust. I called the local Nissan dealer this morning and was told that Nissan won't do anything about this since it wasn't factory installed and was an option and that the rust could have been caused by road conditions. GET REAL PEOPLE!! My car has just over 6k miles on it and had NEVER even been in the snow!

add me to the list. non sport 18" roadster wheels...
![]() ![]() ![]() went to the dealer before i was pointed the direction of this thread. they ordered me a new set, but now im wondering if they ordered the wrong ones. im gonna see their attitude when i try to "fill them in" on this because i know for a fact they have no idea. they felt like they were on there hand tight. one broke as i just started tightening it. noticed the hairline crack on the other before i installed. the two on the front are on, but now that i know they arnt really doing anything, i think ill stop back by Nissan on the way home to get even two more regular standard lugs.. which the first two they removed from a 370 in stock because they had no lugs in stock at all. ugh.. |

+1!!! Mine look like yours! where it's all rusted on the inside :/ not to mention, they had already broken one lug before I took the car home but didn't notice it missing until I started working on my wheels (I should've checked better
