Pulling Rear Fenders
Hey guys I'm taking the car to the shop tomorrow either to dial in the camber a little more or slightly pull the rear fenders. All I need is a little less than a half inch for clearance.
Is it possible to pull our dial rolled rear fenders. I barely need to pull them but just want to be sure it's possible before I go to the shop. Thanks |
yah, could be pretty easy to do the Z's rear arch cause it's not folded under like most arches are back there. give it a lot of heat and use proper fender rolling tool.
tirerack sells them too. |
The shop has a proper roller and heat gun. I've seen their work and won't trust anyone else down here and sure as hell won't do it myself. Thanks man
|
... so any news on how it went?
|
I'm calling around bc the shop told me they couldnt guarantee a clean pull without having to do bodywork afterwards. They dialed in the camber a little more, but still have the same issue even though it's significantly less now. I called one place and he guarantees his work, but i'm going to call another shop tomorrow that a friend recommended. I'll keep you guys posted.

20x12 with aggressive offsets is my problem and almost a 3" drop.

What are your camber settings?
You should be able to pull no problem. If the puller is patient... it should come out perfect. I used to do s2000's it took me a couple hours to do a car but my pulls were perfectly smooth. The Z's metal is a lot thinner and since we dont have the lip in the rear should be easy. I say have the guy who guarantees his work do it... this is an art and not everyone has the skill set to do it. If he is comfortable to guarantee his work he must be good! |
My rear camber arms are maxed out at -6.7. Lol i already spoke to a guy that says he can guarantee it but works out of his house yet everyone recommends him for pulling. He uses The proper rolling tool and by his pictures of his work it looks like he knows what hes doing. I'm going to call an actual shop today and see what they say.

the rear bumper connects to the quarter quite high vs other cars so they might be talking about that. some heat and massaging on the bumper should work but i suppose it depends how much you need to pull it.
|
All I need is a 2-3mm it's barely anything
|
Pm me pics -6.7 is redonkulous!!! Lol
Shoot I did peoples fenders in their driveways with a heat gun and fender roller... If others are recommending him and you have seen his work it sounds legit. |

Yeah, you're the one with the Forged Specialties concave wheel posted not too long ago right? Your offsets are about 20 mm too aggressive. Have you considered doing a widebody kit instead, and bringing your camber back to more sane levels? Or, can they fix your wheels and "add" more (+) backspacing? I don't know if that's even possible.
