Default Tire Pressure Sensor

I have the base model 370Z and changed out the base wheels and tires with the 19 inch rays from the sport model. Since I changed the wheels and tires now the tire pressure sensor is on and I cant get it to turn off.

If anyone knows how to reset the sensor please let me know. The yellow light is making me go crazy.

Thanks...

You need to have the dealer reset it to work with the other sensors.

Another option?

Anyone used this TPMS reset tool (Autel MaxiTPMS TS301 ) for your Z?

What does the dealer usually charge for the reset?

Silly question, but when you changed the wheels and tires, you did swap the TPMS sensors too?

+1 If they did there shouldn't be a issue.

The body control module (BCM) is programmed to only recognize the original sensors. That way as you are driving down the road, you aren't picking-up signals from other cars around you. As TreeSemdyZee mentions, you should have swapped the original sensors over with the wheels. If you did not, the dealer can reprogram the BCM to recognize the new sensors. I am sure they will charge you their flat hourly rate which is in the neighborhood of about $90. It depends on how friendly your dealer is as to whether he will charge you for the 1/2 hour or so it will take them to bring the car in and program, or if he has a minimum charge of say 1 hour.

Shouldn't this be cover under warranty though?

Not if it's not the orignal sensors. And if they where changed over (the orignal sensor) to the new wheels I wouldn't be suprised if they charged you. But at the same time I don't see why the would need to be reprogramed for just changing the sensor over to a new wheel. Unless something got damaged. The sensor doesn't know it's been moved. I just did mine yesterday. No problems at all.

I still have the original wheels and tires. How do you swap out the pressure sensors?

The sensors are the valve stems. Unscrew the hex head and they drop intO the wheels. It's a good idea to get a kit with new gaskets. Tire dealers
Have them.

You have to half way break down the factory ones. Not take the tires off but break the seal. Unscrew the valve stem and pull sesnor out. The sensor is about two inches big. But not all aftermarket wheels work with the factory sensor. But there are other options for that.

Does this mean that if I get a new set of tires and dont change the sizes.. only the brand.. I will have to have sensors reset or buy new ones or some other headache?
