370z touring widest possible tire setup?
I got an 09 370z touring and I have to replace the rear tires, I currently have 245 45r 18, made by yokohoma on the stock 18" rims, I want to get the best handling, stickiest all season tires I can possibly put on them, I was thinking about putting 265 instead of 245, if it's going to make the performance worse I won't do it. I don't know much about tires so that's y I need advice. Which tires brand and size i could best go for. I notice that the sport version come stock with wider tires, and If I can actually put a lil wider than 245 in the rear without degrading the performance, I just want to be safe tho.

As far as tire width is concerned, you could easily mount 245s on the front and 265/275s on the rear as there are a few members currently running that tire setup on base 18s. For the most part, the more tire contact with the ground you have, the more grip you will have. There is not a whole lot of bulge and those tire widths are within safe limits for mounting on the base wheels.
I can't be too helpful on the tire choice though, sorry! |
continental dws are excellent all season tires imo.

245 on the front and 265 rear will work fine. Some people have even jumped up three sizes

Yeah I just bought this 370z touring about 2months ago with 8k miles, and now it has bout 11k, i noticed that the car stock had some wheel hop to it and I couldn't redline first gear with out feeling my rear bumpy(wheel hop), and when i had my 08 350z I had boltons on it and I would redline 1,2,3rd with no rear wheel shake at all. Now I got stillen headers, g3 intake, under drive pulley kit, and the cbe installed I also got the stillen sway bars I just haven't installed them yet, the 370z feels like there's no weight in the rear making me fish tale on a first gear pull, so idk wsup I'm new to this issue since i never had this issue with my last z. I'm thinking if i go wider in the rear with the stock 18" rims n install my sway bars maybe I might help slightly eliminate the rear of my car from fish tailing on dry flat road, the rear tires bow have barely any tread on them left so that's prob a reason why my fish tailing is becoming worse, i bought the car with 7800 miles and it has 10,400 now i didn't bother checking the tread life when i first bout the car. So prob the tread was going bad when i first bought it. I just want to be able to drive fast like my last 08z

You can pretty comfortably go with 275's out back, and 255's up front.

would 265/35 fit on the 18s with 20mm spacers dropped on h&r springs?
