help with size/offsets

I've been looking at getting the TE37 SL and I'm about to pull the trigger but I want to be sure so here is what i'm looking at:

(F) 18X10 +20
(R) 18X11 +18

All that I really worry about is the turning radius of the front wheels. LMK what you guys think and thank you for your help.

Also if you don't mind, what tire size should I go with? I think 275 up front and 305 in the rear but LMK what you guys know will work.

I would go with 20s. Ilive2win has a nice set. Don't remember the exact name of it but it's the special edition volks. Super lap? Offset looks nice!

They are the Super Laps (TE37 - SL). Same wheel the OP is talking about.

I think you are going to be cutting it close in the front especially with a 275 tire. You might be able to make it work with negative camber. Personally I would stick with the standard 19" sizes. They look great!

To help you out here...

You will be fine with a little bit of negative camber up front... say -2 ~ -2.3 camber. to add camber up front you will need spc camber arms. The rear will fit no problem...

here is my deal. Why 18's? Yes they are light and tires are more readily available and cheaper but still WHY?

here are my thoughts on 18's... 18's are a cheaper solution but they come with a cost. If you are going for performance and you upgrade your brakes depending on which BBK you get most likely your gonna have to go up to 19's for them to fit. If performance is your concern and your looking for light wheels I can have 19" step lips made in your size of choice... they weigh in just at 19~20lbs all said and done and you get 19's... So its up to you I say go 19's or bigger with 19's being the middle ground of price + performance.

18's is sooo 2001!

I don't think the te37-sl come in 20's as of yet.


Just my opinion but i say go at least 19's.

That's correct, the largest size TE37 SL's are 19". I'm eyeing those out myself. I don't think you need to go 10" diameter up front. 9.5" will do and it will still accommodate a 275 width tire. At stock height, you probably don't have to increase front negative camber to make the 275's fit, but increasing the negative camber will improve turn in response for sure. If you're slightly lowered, the 275's should fit with negative camber, but there may be rubbing at the fender liner at lock. Do you really need 275 at front though?

As long as your suspension drop is reasonable and the offsets on the wheels are not set too far out ....... absolutely! It provides better balance to match the 305's in the rear. Or a reasonable square tire width setup for the track when matched with a 285/35/19. Plus you won't need a radical negative camber to make it fit. -1.5 camber or less should work.

If done right, I'm sure a 285/35/19 will also fit in the front and I just may try it this spring to see how it works

FYI: I have the Nismo suspension with a 1/2" drop and -1.2 camber all around.

Adding front tire tread width while giving you a larger contact patch will add the following negative attributes:

Tire wandering Aka bump steering
Extra Understeer
Slower transitions
Slower acceleration

Most if not all of these items can be addressed and mitigated *sp* as much as people like running squared setups I typically don't as per my driving style at the track.

A 30 mm increase in wheel width sounds like a lot (excessive) to me. The increased rolling resistance and reduced fuel economy...wow. What tire dimension are you running, Bullitt?

Yes I was wanting 18's for the lighter weight.

So a 9.5" will be better up front? Will it be ok with a 11" in the rear or should I make it a 10.5"?

^ 18's people use for track. IT will lookin kinda goofy without a massive drop

My current setup which is about to change is:

20 x 10 (255 a 265 would be a good choice too)
20 x 12 (305)

My next setup will be along the lines of:

20 x 11 (285)
20 x 13/14 (325 or larger)

Remember I'm going widebody and 1000hp

With 18's you will need atleast a 2+" drop... that's for sure!
