I take the cores out, no center cap and no weights on the wheels. I also take the wheels in off the car. I know that it may seem a litttle overboard but I have worked in those type of places for years and see how any kind of performance car gets treated. There is not many shops that will take the care you would on your car. I would say something to point out that it matters to some people even if it seems like nothing to others. good luck if you do decide to say something.
i'd be a little upset about it too, because I've had my tires mounted before and this never happened. They make tools and other methods of removing them to avoid this... but that's just me. I don't really know what they could do to fix it...

It's a car, they get scratches!

The price... yes. They first quoted me $720 mounted and balanced for brand new Hankook evo 12s to replace the factory tires on my Rays 19" sport rims. Then I added $65 for a 4 wheel alignment so the total got up to $790. On top of that I got in under Hankook's recent $60 mail-in-rebate which I am still waiting for. Closest priced local competition was almost $200 more.

I still have not heard back from the owner but will call him today and complain again about the scratches.

Yeah some places might have not left scratches and some might. Most important thing is that the outer part of the rims aren't damaged. I'm pretty picky with my car but I honestly thing I wouldn't trip off of this. Anyways you got a very good deal on the tires from this place. I suggest you keep good relations with this place so you get good deals in the future bro!

For that? I wouldn't be mad, I couldn't even tell at first, had to look at picture for a good minute or so to finally see it.

If you go to a custom rim shop they typically use a nylon window stick to remove these weights. Since the rims are aluminum I would apply some clearcoat over the scratches as corrosion can set in.

It does! But unlike other metals the aluminum oxide layer creates a barrier from further corrosion.
