The OEM wheel studs are a known weak link. I've personally already changed mine to the ARP extended studs.

WOW thats nuts, but I mean I have seen that happen so many times at autox where people just dont tighten the wheels to the correct torque like idiots.

I think in the comment section the owner says that is what happened.

isn't the correct torque on our lugs 93? or is it 85?

i use 80... snap-on torque wrench. ive yet to have any studs fail on my cars.... and ive owned many cars.

snap on torque wrench here as well.

AK says it should be 80 ft/lb, so I do 80 ft/lb

Seriously, it's mentioned 80 in the instruction manual I believe, but maybe it's different for aftermarket nuts/wheels?

I have always done 90, never had any issues. I showed a friend of mine the video, but didnt tell him what it was and his face was priceless. Conversation with him:

Me: Take a look at this Z at the autox
Him: Oh it looks really low, and must be a hardcore autocrosser running different tires, OOOOHHHHHHHHHHH MAAANNNN
Me: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Him: Epic fail on that guy lol

That was at the imported performance meet or whatever!
It was a fun time there, pretty intense though

The make of torque wrench doesn't mean anything if it's not calibrated correctly.

Click type torque wrenches do need regular calibration.
