I don't think you can pull off a two-tone look with the Rays since they were really designed to be a one color finish.

Close! Gotta leave the main lip silver on the outside. Just the small one inch lip is still Black Rose....
Damm your good!

That's it! That's the look! Very subtle and yet still there. What do YOU think?

I think it's a waste of money and you won't see it in real life.
Just as an indicator, my 40th wheels aren't even painted the same color on the inside, they are matt grey on the inside. Nobody ever notices it...

But then again, the dealer is paying for the respray, three coats. If I change one colour and have them mask the inner wheel and small lip portion it should not be so bad....
Again, I like the sleeper, subtle look of the mod. I still love the silver wheels.... Anyone else have an opinion? Bueller... Bueller... Bueller.....

So after talking with the dealer, I have found out that the wheels need the black base layer to get the proper silver effect on the Rays... this means I will have to apply the Black Rose after the wheels are painted. Fine.
I called a body shop in town and they have the ability to make a spray can of the Black Rose paint so I am going to custom mask and paint these myself after the dealer is done with the factory respraying. Cost of the spray bomb and the clearcoat is less than $50, not too bad!

I agree with Xan...wouldn't be noticeable at all. You'd be wasting $50. IMO, have the wheels painted a colour that's a combination of dark grey with black cherry. That will be killer - darker wheels that stand out (different shade...not murdered) from the body, yet compliment it at the same time...sort of like what the 40th wheels do for the 40th quartz paint. Keep it monotone.
