Question about torque wrench and stock lugs
Hi guys, this may or may not be a newbie question. I just bought a torque wrench (1/2" Drive Click Stop Torque Wrench), it arrived this morning and I realized that I don't have any socket adapters as I don't have a socket set in sizes for lug nuts. I was wondering if anyone can give me insight on what sockets, what sizes, I would need for the OEM wheel lugs and the OEM nissan wheel lock key.
thanks for any help! |

Lug nut and key are the same size.

Same size. Both 21mm.
Use a 6 inch long 1/2" extension to give yourself enough room to move and to prevent the head of the torque wrench hitting the wheel.

also, since the stock lugs are kind of tapered hex, you'll notice that after a lot of use, they'll start to strip. most 21mm sockets wont fit all the way over the stock lugs, they just fit most of the way down. its pretty lame, but you can replace them with better ones.

haha i mean, it was my fault, i was driving. but there is something to be said for people freaking out in your car about whatever. certain things you don't do while someone is driving like yell 'OH MY GOD' or 'WATCH OUT' unless there is some road hazard. thankfully it was my 18's and not my forged specialties 19's, i would have been real pissed. the 18's are just for winter and they are kind a beat up anyway (i got them like that from a member on hear in a trade+cash for my RAYS, and i didn't really care that there was a bit of curb on 1-2 wheels. i got $700+the wheels/tpms(bald tires though) for my RAYS/tires/tpms but my tires only had like 5k on them. i think it was a pretty good deal.
