New 09 370z touring with 19 in and diff tires on front and back. Winter is upon us and I think I should put all season vs winter tires. Looking at replacing with the Continental Extreme Contact DWS, same sizes so i don't have to change the rims. Good or bad idea??????????

Completely in the dark... Good thing you're the niterider!
Couldn't follow everything you were saying, but If you get snow and plan on driving your Z, I would get some 17" or 18" wheels with snow tires. Save your 19"'s for your summer setup.

In Pittsburgh you absolutely need snow tires, all seasons aren't going to cut it in this car.

Absolutely that is the best option. But I put snow tires on my clunkers as well.

All, Appreciated all the advice. Since I'm retired an don't have to drive ever day I decided to put all-season tires, the Continental Extremecontact DWS. Let you know in the spring if this was a good decision.

Just an FYI, there is no such thing as an all season tire. In reality it is a 3 season tire with a minimum support for the 4th season, good in the wet, fine in the dry, and marginal in the snow. If you are just driving on cold but clear days or a light dusting you will be able to get around, however if it actually snows please stay home! The hills of Pittsburgh will not treat you kindly.
There is a reason that places like Quebec mandate snow tires, if only the Northern US states were as wise, our weather isn't that different.

I was thinking of getting those put on next week - I don't have to deal with snow very often and the Tire Rack tests showed these were actually very good in snow.
I figure the Z has about as much weight on the rears as my NSX and I drove it in snow when I (absolutely) had to with all season tires on it. Sometimes it was a little scary ![]()
