What Tires Are You Using?

Didn't want to offend anyone for not listing a specific type they have, I just picked these for the Poll because of price......If you have a brand not listed but grip performance and tire-longevity is great feel free to add it to the thread:

Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110

Falken FK 452

Yokohama S.drive

Nitto NT05

BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW NT

Yokohama ADVAN Sport

Bridgestone Potenza RE050A

Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Run Flat

Pirelli P-Zero

Did a search but don't think this is a repost?

RE11's I think will be my next tire....Rated 4.5 Overall and higher Handling Rating and threadwear compared to RE050a...

RE11's! :driving:

import111 10-14-2010 09:38 AM

I have NT05's on the rear. They are ok. Better than stock. I have ordered AD08's for the front so we will see how good those are.

Diocletian 10-14-2010 10:14 AM

I have/had Yoko Advan Sports and they are ***. Traction and handling are ok but they wear unevenly(after research this seems to be a common problem with them) and lasted only 10k miles of mostly highway driving.

I wanted the NT05's but they don't make them in 245/45/18 :( I'm leaning more towards the Michelin PS2's. They seem to get excellent ratings and reviews.

Hybrid 350GT 10-14-2010 10:19 AM

I love the KDW2. Best all weather performance tire I have used. I have had them on my G35 since I bought it and had them on my Integrea Type-R before that.

Azroadster 10-14-2010 10:48 AM

Hankooks - love 'em.

jrniehaus 10-14-2010 11:35 AM

I still haven't voted on this poll because it's missing two major tires. Where's the Toyo T1R's and the Goodyear F1's?

xiven 10-14-2010 12:19 PM

Still on stockers at 23,700

Zerafian 10-14-2010 12:53 PM

hankook ventus v12's all the way...On my 2nd set after almost 30k miles with the first set.

ClemsonWill 10-14-2010 03:36 PM

I'm on my stock tire right now but my RE-11s are in. I just need to go pick them up. I can't wait!

I've had Toyo T1R's on my G35 and they were ok but their sidewalls are a lil flimsy for my taste when it came to hard cornering. I am going to be running Nitto Invos on my 20's when I get em installed on my 370 in a week or so. i will chime back in then.

BGTV8 10-14-2010 04:36 PM

Dunlop Direzza DZSP1 on 18" OEM wheels

bullitt5897 10-14-2010 05:25 PM

Falkens!

HKYStormFront 10-14-2010 05:26 PM

there's no option for Nitto Terra Grapplers :stirthepot:

You are missing out. My car was downright scary when it was new at speeds, the RE11 made it a lot easier to drive. I put mine on at 600 miles

370zsport09 10-14-2010 06:44 PM

I'm thinkin' of going with HANKOOK for my next set, lookin at a savingz of 400 bucks versus going to stock Bridgestone from Discount Tire for 1300 with TMPS rebuild kit.....but I do like the stock ride....not sure if Hankook is a rougher ride or not?

shabarivas 10-14-2010 07:39 PM

Toyo T1Rs - next will be the NT05s

AllForTheCash 10-14-2010 07:44 PM

You forgot Michelin PS2. :ugh2:

You don't need to rebuild your TPMS, car is too new. The ride on the V12s are good, more quiet than stock, but I am not a fan of its grip/feel.

nismo 1234 10-14-2010 10:45 PM

hmm.. i have toyo t1r....
it came with the rims when i bought them second hand

JerWA 10-15-2010 04:10 AM

On the tail end of the stockers now, but none of the miles were mine so I don't have a good impression. All I know is trying to launch the car is fun but not very productive, as is trying to hit WOT before 2nd gear. And that's in the dry.

Currently waffling on a resize. My American-Car habits make me want more tire, regardless of what it's actually accomplishing lol. But I don't think I have enough miles left on the tires to save up enough $ for wheels, limiting my resize options.

What's a good all around tire (rains here a lot, so they can't turn into death trap slicks in the wet but I'm not looking to do any rain racing either so it's not a huge deal) in a slightly wider than stock tire size on the stock sport wheels? I think I remember reading about a 265/285 split or something like that?

370zsport09 10-15-2010 08:37 AM

Thanks for the TMPS info

I wasn't sure if it was something you have to do everytime you change tires...much appreciated

cossie1600 10-15-2010 09:37 AM

nope, dont let the shop rape you.

SeattleLion 10-15-2010 02:42 PM

I put Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus on my car.

Mike 10-15-2010 04:15 PM

Yokohama Advan Neova AD-08, a true dual purpose track and street tire. Running them at Road America this weekend.

I had them on my recently traded 370 coupe. An excellent tire with a high mileage rating. They were also quieter and didn't pick up sand/rocks as readily as the stock Yokohama's. The 275's fit perfect on the stock 18" rear rims and 245's on the front.

Great tires !!

Waiz 10-17-2010 12:43 AM

I've run BFG KDW 2's and Bridgestone Potenza RE050A and I will run the Potenzas from now on.

The KDW's are very loud but they are super grippy and the Potenzas are a better all around tire.

Pushing_Tin 10-17-2010 02:15 AM

Love the Hankooks, especially for the money.

memorylasts 10-17-2010 05:21 AM

Just out of curiosity why is it that it is rare to find 370z drivers who have chosen the Michelin PS2 for a tire, im just curious is it due to cost or is there something better, i have had them on previous cars and havn't had to complain that just cause i really liked them.

There are many reviews that compare other tires mentioned here to the PS2s. Some beat the PS2s in different areas and most are cheaper. Those findings together lead to people buying the other tires.

I have been running the Michelin Pilot for years and have found them to be the best tires I have ever found.....The reason I run them is because they are very responsive (they corner and make any car perform to its best) and that is what I want out of any car. That is what, to me, the Z is all about(handling)....not acceleration.......but cornering.....responsiveness.......
I dont understand why the Michelins are not that well liked here. Is it just because those here think they are too expensive? They "wear" great !

They are not even among the choices in this Poll......WHY ? is it because People here have not discovered them ? Because they are too expensive? "WHY" ?????

import111 10-17-2010 04:29 PM

There are lots of better tires out there for less $ than Michelin PS2's. That is why not many people use them I would imagine.

I bought the V12s thinking they were the hot stuff after the C&D article, I found them to be better than average at best.

Pudge532 10-17-2010 11:54 PM

I'm looking at getting the Potenza RE 960AS Pole Positions... Any thoughts on these?

In terms of treadlife, performance and functionality (both summer and winter here in the TN valley), they seem like a smart choice...

BTW, this is my first post. Traded in my 2010 WRX for my Z on Friday, and of course with 11k on it, the yokos are bald in the rear.
