I don't normally powdercoat wheels, but....
Rogue370z designed, built, maintains and hosts my business website, all for free, so other than myself, he is the only one I coat wheels for.
I bought these Nismo 370z wheels from BLKNIZMO in August, and finally got around to coating them. I don't coat wheels because of the time involved and that I always have a backlog of brake calipers waiting to be done. However, I finally found myself with a free day, so I got them done tonite. I'm still deciding what color to coat the ones I take off of his car, which will be my new track wheels, leaning to neon orange right now, but thats a different matter. Anyhoo, here is one, done in satin black. http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/6149/dsc00823l.jpg |
looks amazing. hey mike...is it possible to mask off the nismo lettering and leave that uncoated? ive been wondering if its possible...
|
yes, that would be possible, but tricky. the masking tape would have to be pulled right before the powder started to totally melt, but while it was melted enough to stick to the wheel still. Otherwise, you would get rough edges. I think it would probably be easier and more efficient to handcut vinyl letters after the coating. hmm, might try that on mine.

Your work is always top notch. They look great! I can't wait to see them on the car!

Now that I looked at the wheel again, what you think about painting the NISMO letters RED? Yes ? NO?

Sick! Red lettering would be nice!

Um.. I'm not a fan of painted or powder coated wheels but that looks awesome. Hrm, I may have to reconsider my prejudice against modified stock wheels. ;)

I think that would look pretty hot, or maybe silver NISM and red O. Thats what I have on my S-tune wheels, but in vinyl. |
