Question about Nitrogen

This may be posted somewhere else sorry if it has. Does anyone use or recommend using nitrogen in these tires. Does it make any difference at all or is it

Does it make any difference at all or is it just a waste of time.

good luck getting a real answer, as there really is none. people are gonna go both ways here. here is the breakdown of the "supposed" goods and bads:

Goods:
More stable handling
Better gas mileage
Better ability to maintain pressure

Bads:
Cost...
Cost...
Cost...

According to some industry mags i get at my shop, the real reason for nitrogen is because it doesn't have any water vapor in it. The water vapor in regular air can wreak havoc on the TPM sensors in the wheels, corroding them and causing the light to come on.

I believe the latter explanation. Its up to you to decide what to believe.

Its a pita unless you have nitrogen at home.

yeah, you can have it put in when you get new tires if you want, but you might as well top off when you have to with regular air.

The air we breathe is 78% nitrogen, complete waste of money. Only pro is that is helps reduce the impact of a blowout, that is why NHRA car's use it. It is pretty much a snake oil mod.

My understanding is it reduces pressure changed from heating while racing, so it helps keep tire pressures consistent, but isn't really helpful on the street.

The dealer has it for free here. It's supposed to help maintain tire pressure more
consistently, but I find I still lose a couple lbs a week

Elemental nitrogen is a colorless, odorless, tasteless and mostly inert diatomic gas at standard conditions, constituting 78.08% by volume of Earth's atmosphere

Dont waste your money....all of the claims are not true......

Use helium.
Reduces weight of vehicle to nearly zero.

I went to get my tires topped off today and I think they've just been filling them with air even though they told me it was Nitrogen.

I took a look at the machine that they were filling the tires with and I couldn't tell otherwise, it's free for me but it was funny nonetheless that they would lie.

AIR IS 78.8% NITROGEN !!!!! DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT ANOTHER 20% NITROGEN WOULD make any difference ?? Come on !

The point of using Nitrogen (at the track) isn't to remove the last 20% but to remove the moisture from the tire. Moisture in the tire expands more with heat, having a greater pressure affect than dry air.

If you used a/c air in your tire it would probably be as good
