Default I damaged up my rim parking

So today I was parallel parking outside my apartment in my 3 week old car and I curbed my rim kinda bad. I did it at night so I can't really tell how bad it is but I am sure it will be noticeable. I knew the day would come since the only parking available is on the street so I am not that upset. But it has gotten me nervous about upgrading my rims. Why should I spend 2500 to 5000 to get new rims if I will eventually screw them up?

I was curious to see if there is anyone else here that deals with the chance of damaging their rims on a daily basis kinda like I do. Do you get your rims repaired once or twice a year? Do you just say screw it and drive with damaged rims? Or are you super careful? I got a feeling if I get new rims I may be getting them repaired once or twice a year.
