you can get 285/35 for the front too if you want. Far less understeer with that setup.

Default Pictures of 305's on Sports Package wheels

Does anybody have a picture of 265/35/19 fronts and 305/30/19 re-11's rears on the sports package wheels? Some people are saying they are too pinched?

Also with these sizes do I need spacers or do they just make it look better?

they fit absolutely perfect. those sizes in RE-11 on sport wheels looks like how the car should have been set up

no problem. honestly I thought the PSS's couldn't be topped but after switching to these RE-11s in a wider size my mind was changed. plus the wider sizes wear better so far I feel like. still have a bit of meat on my rears but with zdayz next week new rubber is going on.

I want to get a similar set-up going as you mentioned above, but I want a 275/35/19 in the front with the 305/30 in the rear. I noticed that the RE-11's don't come in a 275/35/19.

Would I be better off going down to a 265 or up to a 285?

I've been reading this thread to get some ideas of what I want: "Why you should use these tires with NISMO Wheels: 285/35R19 (F), 325/30R19 (R)"

Default Just installed RE-11's and have questions

Hi Y'all,

So I just installed 265/35/19 front and 305/30/19 rear RE-11's on a 370 with sports package and although I really like the increased gip in both wet and dry vs OEM tires I am noticing the steering has gone very vague and the car is not feeling planted at all at high speeds.

Has anybody else experienced this?

Are the sidewalls on the RE-11's a lot less stiff than the OEM's?

With 35psi pressure am I inflating to the correct pressure for this oversized tire?

Appreciate any help.

other people will have other opinions because most people on this forum subscribe to the sizes you mentioned, but if you look at what's happening you reduced your front tire size by 5% and your rear by 1%. You also have significantly less sidewall than previously. The reason you feel a reduction in steering feel is because you increased the difference in size between the rear width and front width (bad for keeping neutral and understeers a lot more) and you're putting more weight on the front tires because you slightly shifted your center of balance (by about 2 degrees raked, so around an extra 33 pounds on top of each wheel). You also changed the stock aerodynamic properties of the vehicle with it being raked forward slightly and if you live anywhere with a lot of crosswind you'll notice it more.

Point is, the sidewall isn't softer than oem, but the compound is and now you're slightly raked, so what you're feeling is a small difference in balance.

99.9% of people would never notice this, so good on you for knowing your car well enough

I've not had much gas in the tank since installing tires, will be interesting if I regain "some" of the balance when I fill the tank with gas.

i was assuming a full tank of gas in my estimation . I have found that these cars have significantly more grip with a full tank versus half...

Just done the tire height calcs myself and there is almost no difference in balance as follows:

OEM tires

Front 245 / 40 = 98mm, Rear = 275 / 35 = 96.25mm

The front tire height is therefore 1.75mm higher than rear on OEM tires and this is balanced as per car design.

Oversized tires

Front = 265 / 35 = 92.75mm, Rear = 91.5mm

The front tire height is therefore 1.25mm higher than rear which is only 0.5mm different to OEM tires?

I'm now unsure again on why the car feels so vague and floaty at high speed?

245/45/19 = 27.7" diameter
265/35/19 = 26.3" diameter

305/30/19 = 26.3" diameter
275/35/19 = 26.7" diameter

front = 1.4" smaller
rear = .4" smaller

0.5" total pitch difference. Although small, can be noticeable.

Other things to consider in your setup:
Did you get an alignment? any toe out in front?
Have you hit any potholes recently?
Any vibration in the steering wheel?

There are really a lot of considerations when it comes to a car's suspension/tire setup and for the most part shops get you to what's "close enough" or "good enough" because you won't ever notice it in daily driving. It may be that what they consider "good enough" you don't. I race my car, so I strive for my alignment to be as dead on as possible...I take it to a race shop and pay double to triple what most pay to have someone sit there and get it just right. 1/16" toe out in front will make a car handle significantly better, but it will also make a car more shifty at high speeds in a straight line.
