Volk Racing TE37 SL- Now confirmed in 19" sizing!

Rays Japan has just confirmed that they will be releasing the 19-inch TE37 SL model. The TE37 SL boasts a form forged construction and a lower price, while still maintaining the strength of the original TE37 wheel. The only color available is pressed graphite.

Red__Zed 08-19-2010 10:52 AM

looks interesting...anyone know how they will be priced?

I have a preorder open with confirmed 19x9.5/19x10.5 pricing. They are much cheaper than the regular 19inch TE37s. Feel free to PM me or click on the preorder thread.

christian370z 08-19-2010 11:48 AM

What makes them cheaper? Is there a significant weight penalty over the standard TE37s?

Hi Christian,

I believe that the newer construction of the mold form forging is cheaper to manufacture. I'm not too sure about specifics though as Rays has not released any information on this new technology. These are still very strong forged wheels in line with the original TE37s.

Regarding weight, these are actually lighter than the original TE37 wheel. Volk has managed to shed some weight while strengthening some strategic locations. They have informed us that the weight has been shed without sacrificing the strength of the wheel, and the weight difference is approximately 1 lb lighter than a standard TE37 on a 18x10.5 wheel. The weight savings could be more on a 19 inch wheel however they have not begun final production/delivery yet.

I can run these wheels with the stock sport tires right? would it look right? or would I have to replace the tires as well?
