Question on wheel spacers with OEM wheels.

I've been contemplating getting new wheels since i got my Z (3 days ago) and have decided to go with spacers for the time being. I have a 2010 touring with sport package so it's got the 19" rays wheels.

I've seen pics with cars that are running 20mm on the rears and 15mm on the fronts, but im going for more of an aggressive look. Is 25mm on the rears and 20mm on the fronts a little excessive or is 20mm rears 15mm fronts about as much as you can go with the stock wheels?

Im also lowered on H&R sport springs.

Any advice or input is appreciated and sorry if this is a noob question. I searched briefly and came up empty handed.

You need studs.

Maybe I am old school, but car doesn't seem to look different to me with the wheels tucked in or out.

From the research i have done, the spacers bolt to the hub and the wheels bolt to the spacer therefore i don't need longer studs... correct me if im wrong.

I don't want them to "stick out"... just have more of an aggressive stance. I found a member on here who is running 20mm fronts and rears and it looks pretty good. Rears are almost flush with fender but not quite, which is probably a good thing for rubbing issues. 25mm might be pushing it with H&R springs.

I'm pretty sure 25s in the rear will rub especially being lowered. You are probably better off sticking to 15 front and 20 rear.

I don't think you will need the studs either.

actually, I ran 25 in the rears with eibach springs and they were just fine. When I put the taller nismo suspension on, they stuck out too much so I went down to 15s, but they still didn't rub

anything smaller than 25 and you will have to use the spacers that require longer studs. the factory studs are slightly longer than 20mm so the studs stick out past the spacer when the bolt on kind is used.

i dunno why, but i just don't like the bolt on kind. For example, you're supposed to re torque your lugs after they have been on for 100 miles. How do you re torque the lugs on a bolt on spacer? you have to take the whole wheel off. just seems like 5 more points of failure.

jeff- i use locktite blue and let it cure over night on the inner nuts for the spacers.

no issue. been using Kics for many years.

right now im just using 15's on the rear on stock suspension. the reason was not originally intended for cosmetics, rather to settle down the car for straightline. feels great now ...and as side effect also looks good too.

oh yea, aren't you supposed to put on anti seize or something when you install spacers? is that what that locktite stuff is?

i dont use anti seize but some folks use that on the backside of the spacer (the side facing car) so that it can be removed later easily.

if you're worried about stuck parts then you wont need to use loctite. i use these spacers on my hobby cars and they rarely get wet so no issues with rusted parts.

i use CRC for parts that i dont want to get stuck.

I had some Project Kics spacers (15/20mm) on my G35 for 3 years with no problem. No anti seize or anything, came right off. I would go 15/20mm on this car.

OP, as mike stated, 25r and 20f will work no problem for you. I had them with the stock wheels and had no rubbing issues.. lowered on Stance GR+ Coils.
