Traction control issues after ventus V12's installed

Had a set of 285/35 /19 hankook ventus v12 evo's installed on the rear of my car and now the car's traction control kicks in whenever making hard turns or even when switching lanes at speed!! I still have the potenzas on the front but have never heard of tires causing this issue? Just got my alignment done and still the issue is not solved. I have BC BR coilovers and have had no issues with the car until now... Any suggestions??

Nah... I bet this is simply the rear tires failing to grip as well as the fronts.

Actually, I didin't think I'd ever say this, but really like the 370Z's traction control -- you can still kick out the rear easily; there's just fewer surprises when you do it.

How many miles do you have on those rears?

For the first 2-300 miles you will have a slight gel coat on the tires which will prevent you from gripping as well as you should. Just do a couple of burn outs LOL

It can take up to 500 miles to fully "break in" a set of new street tires depending on your driving habits.

I'm not entirely convinced that what everybody else has said is correct.

It could have something to do with your front and rear tires being 0.3" different in diameter now. Stock, they are 0.1" different at most. Such a "slip" between the front and rear wheel speed sensors (there is one on each wheel for ABS and VDC purposes) may cause the system to engage sporadically.

Give it a few hundred more miles like everybody else says. If it doesn't go away, you're going to need to get some matching diameter front tires.

I've put about 350 miles on the tires so far, maybe I just need to let them wear in a little more. I believe the diameter difference could be causing the issue, but this is what the Nismo comes equipped with from the factory... Unless the Nismo's ECU is retuned for the difference in tire size?

This is true. I think the general rule is that you want to keep your front and rear tire diameters within 3% of one another otherwise it can throw off the sensors. It's mentioned quite a bit in some of the tire sizing threads.

nismos also have a 255 front to match the rears 285.

thats not true... nismos come from the factory with 245/40/19 & 285/35/19

hmm. thats weird why would nismo create more understeer? bah, anyway besides the point.

the only thing i can really think otherwise is when i ran hankooks awhile back they fit wider and taller than the other tires i ran in the same sizes (contisport 2, rt-615, 595ss) never ran any bridgestones but ive noticed they always have a narrow fit.
so maybe its throwing the sensors off in that sense.

I have about 2,000 miles on mine and I have had no issues at all. I am running stock sizes FWIW.
