Had to bring this back to life, as I just experienced it. I have my front aftermarkets off the car, and put the OEMs back on until I get the aftermarkets back. Wow, did the handling go bonkers. I have Hankook 305s in the rear, and this car won't take turns at all (at speed). It is probably a mixture of tire grip and overall diameter, but when I took my first on-ramp, I thought the car was broke. Very weird and not recommended - need my new fronts back and on the car.

not sure wat you meant by "wont take turns"... are you understeering or oversteering?

when used tires sit for a while in storage they need to be broken in again as the outer rubber tends to dry out at times.

Diameter doesn't really seem to bother it too much, I've run some odd sizes.

It does not like having different compounds front and rear, the different grip levels are very pronounced in the car for some reason.

Just for fun I drove around the block with DOT slicks mounted only on the left side of the car, boy did that feel weird! Had to drive with the steering wheel cocked to one side.

Yeah, it is probably the different compounds, as I have noticed the Hankooks are definately not as grippy. As for my comments of not being able to turn, the car wouldn't turn, lost all power, and it was choppy. Probably wanted to oversteer some (although didn't feel like it), and then the computer took over, and it actually felt more like understeer. All I can say is, don't do it. FYI, the tires are all good - 11k in the fronts, 1k in the rears.

I just think that running different brand tires is 90% of the problem... that's just me =)
