I stackup stock wheel/tire set to use as spares and when I'm ready to sell the car.
HomeDepot sells particle board circles that are prefect size to use for storage. Screw on 4 heavy duty casters and you're set! |

if you want to race the car and dont have a set of wheels for it, just use the stocks and put dragg radials on 2 of them and us the other 2 for another set of dragg radials and role in your $2,00-$4,000 dollar wheels. idk just a suggestion. did that with my scion.
Another thing is dont ever rush into or feel pressured to get something as big as wheels, exaust, tuner ect...look into and see what will best fit your style, interests, and intent for the car. The car should express you and have your style put into it. Thats why we all choose different things. Be pretty boring if we all just got TE37 or enkie RPF1. like others said just save if money is an issue. you'll feel alot better about the car if you wait and get EXACTLY what YOU like. Good luck. Sportmaxx changed their name to XXR.
IMHO, I believe you get what you pay for. And what you get usually works for what you are doing. I'm not saying knockoffs are bad or those who get them should be looked down upon. I have a pair of Konig Rewinds (knockoff Watanabes) on my 97 Miata. I wasn't about to pay over half the value of my Miata on wheels. That being said, I'm not planning on racing on those wheels. And if I did, I wouldn't be surprised if something happened. Not saying they would. Anything could happen. Of course I'd feel much safer with a set of Work's or SSR's. I am no expert on wheels. I don't know what goes into making a set of wheels. When it comes down to it, I say get what you feel comfortable with. There is no point in getting a set of wheels that you can't afford. I know some of you don't agree with what I said but this is just my opinion. Thanks for listening...errr...reading. I agree with Chris, putting the "real" center caps on knockoff wheels is really screwed up. Just keep the center caps off. -char Last edited by CharBoiler; 08-10-2010 at 04:39 PM. |

xxr rims are not the best wheels but they r good enough for the money...they r seen on a lot of cheaper cars like the scion xbs and they use to be called by another name...i dont recall the old name but they got a bad name so they changed their name....all in all they r built fine and as long as u have the right clearance for ur vehicle then u should b just fine

I think the consensus here is that you should keep your stock wheels and save up for something actually worth purchasing. They are decent wheels, but for a $30k+ car, please don't. And plus, if you buy a replica, you're going to end up wishing you had saved a little more and gotten the real deal.
If you really want to go budget friendly, just have your OEM wheels refinished in a shade of gold you like. It's cheaper and looks good. That way you can still save up money for those SF Challenges you've been drooling over yet satisfying your craving for gold wheels. On a side note, I'm pretty sure the Rota D2's listed above are more likely replicas of the SSR Professor SP1 than the Work Meister S1 3p. |

i havent really heard of too many problems with them and im sure they are fine...i dont thinnk u really need to worry about breaking them unless ur planning on offroading with ur car or jumping curbs just like any other rim...i have asked around a lot and it seems that they are built as good as a knock off rim can be....i am looking at some xxrs too just because i like the style that they come in and i have been unable to find that style just the way they do it in another brand(although they are knock offs, so they are bound to b around)
