Nitto NT05's ....
Why so much love for the Hankooks and no love for these Nitto's ? The NT05's and Invo's are very affordable just like the Hankook's.
I just picked up a set of Nitto NT05's and with all the praise on the Hankook's, I am hoping I didn't make a mistake... They should arrive some time next week so I have not used them yet. The shipping has taken much longer than I would of hoped for though. But I paid just under 900 shipped for the full set so I cant complain. PM me if you are curious as to where I got them. I would supported the forum sponsors but couldn't find one with them for a price I was happy with. I kept the stock size for this batch, I wanted to go bigger but the price was right for these... 275/35/19 and 245/40/19 combo, other option was the ventus evo's in 275-f / 305-r. These NT05's and even the Nitto Invo's seem to get brilliant reviews on the corvette forums and on all the tire sites review sections ... Going through google, all I found were posts from the corvette forums about the NT05'S. All the people seemed to impressed with them. If they can allow the Z06 to hook I would assume they'll be great for us too... That was the reason for me going with them over the Hankook Ventus Evo v12's. Anyone have the NT05's though ? Feedback ? Haven't seen or heard much about him on here hoping they turn out to be as good as the reviews I have seen. 200 Tread wear rating is not the greatest, how long they last will probably determine if they are worth it. The invo's has a better tread wear rating, and were more wet weather frieldly but I want the best grip I can get and the I dig the look of the nt05's a lot.

Like you said, pretty big difference in treadwear ratings between the V12's and the NT05's, and the V12's are also cheaper. Personally it wasn't so much the price, but the combination of price, treadware, dry performance, and wet performance. I was too unsure about the wet performance of the NT05's to get them. I've been happy with the V12's, but I still might try the NT05's once these tires are done.

Yea I looked at those as well.. Tire Rack has them for just over 1100 shipped for the 4 ... They too have a very nice reviews... Maybe they will be next to try out...
Most reviews I read dont really complain of road noise on the nt05's. I hope they are not all that loud ! re-11 has a treadwear of 180... haha ... You gotta give i'll give up tire life for grip any day.

i have the v12's on my type-f's and the nt05's on my stockers. and have tracked both setup. nt05's are way better for track use. for the street i'd go with the v12's. i think the v12's and invo's are more comparable then the v12's and nt05's.

Invos suck. Dnt bother. I had them on my VW gli and traction was no better than the stock all seasons.

Installed the NT05's in the rear yesterday... Tire grips and handles excellent.. A certain improvement over re50a's ....
One thing I noticed is when I cut the wheel back and forth you can feel the softer sidewall but it feels like it grips like a mofo

NT05 is better than both the V12 and the INVO's. You did not make a mistake by ordering them. They are awesome tires. Yes the RE11's are quieter and better in the rain, but what do we care? A little less noise worth $200? In my book, nope.
I really love these tires for daily driving and I would definitely buy them again. |

I'm seriously considering iNVO's when I go for my wheels/tires... RE-11's have been looked at due to heavy praise here...
Also looking at Nitto NEO-GENs as a tertiary option, have heard nothing but praise by people who have them, and as a somewhat cheaper alternative to the higher priced iNVO's...

Why not nt05s chris ? I've driven in this insane rainy north east weather this passed week with zero issues. Dry traction is night and day compared to the re50a's
