Tire size for Enkei stock 18" wheels
 

I was wondering if anyone replaced the stock tires on the non-sport model wheels. How wide a tire can you go with these rims. I would like to keep the sidewall height the same. Any recommendations? The back ones right now just look way too narrow on this car.

You can easily do 255 back 235 front without any issues...I think 265 back and 245 front may be fine as well but I'm not sure.

I was thinking more 275/40 for the rears. Will this fit? Will it look bad on these rims?

curious..why are you going with 18's?

Honestly, I think 18" is the sweet spot for grip, comfort and steering feel. The 19's look better though.

I see a black z with 18's around a lot. Are you in nassau or suffolk?

That's in Syosett right. I driven by there once or twice, but I don't think that was me. I'm on rt 106 a lot, but mostly around Hicksville and the south shore.

I have an Australian-spec MY09 Z34 which has the Akebono brakes and 18" EOM wheels (8" at the front and 9" at the rear) and I have run 235/40R18 Kumho KU36 on the front and 275/35R18 on the rear with absolutely no problems. The car sits 3/4" lower on the road and you do get improved primary road grip as the CoG is ~20mm lower, but at the cost of speedometer overreading by another 4% - at an indicated 110km/hr I am onyl travelling at 101kph (69mph = 62mph). Side benefit is that the overall gearing is a little lower so accelration is improved ..

If you wish to keep the sidewall height the same, you will need to find:
Front: 235/45R18 which is under size by 8mm overall diameter
Rear: 265/40R18 which is undersize by the same amount

These are not common sizes but you may have access to a superior range of sizes in the US than we do in the land of OZ.

Increasing sidewall height increases overall diameter and vice versa, which in turn changes how long it takes a tire to rotate. So the simple answer is yes.

yea its in syosset. I'm on 106 in hicksville occasionally. Good luck with your tire choice. I'd try and stay withing +-3% of stock overall ride height

I ran these on OEM 18" for the winter:

245/45R18 w/ Continental ExtremeContact DWS
275/40R18 w/ Continental ExtremeContact DWS

I decided to go with Advan Sport 275/40/18 for the back wheels & move tge 245/45/18 to the front. The 245's looks so narrow by comparison. Ordered from Tire Rack and got them delivered yesterday. I will have them mounted tomorrow.
