New Tire - Recomendatons Please
First set of OEM tires are about worn out. I’m hoping there might be some recommendations for new tires based on the following:
My driving conditions: Live in VA so there are no adverse weather conditions to consider. No racing, track or other aggressive driving beyond “normal” roads. Drive 15 minutes each way to and from work and the highest speed limit is 45, so I drive 50-55. I use my car for business trips on average 2-4 times a month mostly highway/interstate driving for 1-4 hour durations. Would like: Quieter ride. longer wear (18K+) Softer ride Handling is less important due to my typical driving conditions If there is any other info you need to offer a recommendation please let me know. Thanks in advance for your suggestions. |

I would love to know also, how many miles did you run before the tires give out ??

Hankook evo v12s hands down.

I second the Ventus V12. Rides a lot quieter... smoother? Not necessarily. Low profile tires on a 19" wheel = harsh ride. That's just a fact of life.

I just put on my Hankooks yesterday and I'm very pleased so far. Granted I overdrove my stock Advans to 16K and they were getting bad. The car feels like it pulls less (from changes in the road), it's definitely quieter, and I like the look of the fatty tires. I went with 30-series to get the width I wanted, so the sidewall is actually smaller than stock. If you keep your sizing closer to stock your ride may even be better.

I'm going to recommend the Continental ExtremeContact DW (Dry-Wet) tires. These are receiving better TireRack reviews than the Hankooks and the OEM Bridgestones across the board. I'm at just over 16K miles, I'm not running slicks yet, but I try to avoid the rain when possible. I"m running the Conti ExtremeContact DWS (Dry-Wet-Snow) tires on my family car and they are great. The ExtremeContact DW for the Z are priced just a hair above the very affordable Hankooks, yet are much better rated. So personally I'm going with the Continentals..

the sizing the in ventus v12's is pretty good and supposedly they last a quite a while. The Falken 452's are also good.
