Default anti theft lugs

Anyone have any comments on using anti theft lugs? Do they work well? I would think thieves would have a device for anything they come across. Would it be beneficial to use 2 0r 3 different sets of them and mix match or do their methonds bypass the coded part of the lug altogether? I swear after seeing some of the pics on posts of stolen wheels Im thinking of puting 3 "clubs" on each wheel when I park it. Car comes any day so Im trying to be pro active. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. P.S. anyone in the Long Island area want to start a wheel thief vigilante club??? We can just park our cars in bad areas at night and hide in the bushes. I have a great place to hide the bodies! I figure we can really clean this place up in a month or two!

they sort of work... the ones that fill the bores would work better.

if the dealer didn't steal my stock lugs when they installed the locks i would not be using the locks at all, actually. it's just annoying needing that key each time.

I've got a keyed lug on each wheel and so far nobody has taken my wheels. They seem to be working pretty well I'd say.

no one has taken your wheels, proof that they work!

They're more of a deterrent. Why deal with wheel locks when the car next to yours has no wheel locks.

Because the car next to yours has steel hubs so it's worthless...

They'll go after your wheels.

Since Congress signed the Undetecable Weapons Act, no undetectable weapons have been found by security oifficials screening for undetectable weapons.

I have locking lugnuts, but I also own guns and have insurance.
However it works out, I'll be fine after some minor inconvenience.

hahaha, yah, i dont think mine does. ive never worked on my wheels while the car was locked so dont know. my Z's locked up in my garage during the week so the theif would need to go through the house alarm system to get to my cars...with the police station only 2min away not a good idea.

There are several threads here that cover this. Gorilla makes ones that fit, but not properly. Someone even posted some photos. I've bought ones based on part No's other members have posted. Bad idea. Bottom line, our OEM lug nuts and the Nissan security locks have an interesting shape. If you hold one and examine the profile, you might see what's missing in other nuts with matching thread & depth.

I haven't found a security nut yet that is as good a fit as the ones from Nissan. Which sucks, because companies like Gorilla make some fantastic theft-deterrent products. We need an expert to definitely say that it's OK to put nuts that aren't a good match on our rims, that there's no significant risk of wheel damage or failure.

Directed (DEI, Viper, Clifford, etc) 500T. They're CHEAP, like $10/$20. I had one of these on the front and rear of my 240SX. Think of a contact suspended by a rubber band. Any jerking motion vertically will set it off (usually from jacking the car up).
