Conti ExtremeContact DW
Anyone use these on a 370? I had a pair for about a week once with my SRT-4 and I wasn't too fond of the sidewall on the set I had, but it was a 50 series tire. I'm curious how they are on the Z, since it runs lower profiles.
Thanks in advance... |

Good Question... I see Tire Rack recently started carrying these in Z sizing. Just a fraction more money than the Hankook's that everyone praises and I was tempted on getting before seeing these DW's. The ratings on these Conti DW's is much better than OEM's and the Hankooks. Keep in mind Continental also makes an ExtremeContact DWS (Dry, Wet, Snow) which is a very high rated all season tire.

Very interested in these myself. Conti has a good reputation and the DWs rated highly in Tire Rack's tests. I read another good review on them as well elsewhere. I think they are so new that there are few actual users out there to comment, although the user reviews at Tire Rack were pretty good also.

I agree. These things are rated right up there with the PS2s, which is saying a lot. Like I said, I had a set on my last car, and I was NOT a fan of the sidewalls. I just came from KDW2s and wanted to try something new on my SRT-4. I was able to press the sidewall in with my thumb and even lane changes felt weird, like you can feel the sidewall moving during turning. The grip was VERY impressive, but they didn't give me any confidence. Just wondering how they might be with a shorter profile. Last edited by Volcom370Z; 06-24-2010 at 06:41 AM. |
