Where to buy rims?
Hi everyone,
I was wondering where is a good place to buy rims? or is online a better choice, if so which websites might be good and reliable? I was also searching the wheels and tire thread and saw a lot of threads talking about offsets. Can anyone clarify this, i'm getting my car this week and was wondering what they meant. -Thomas |
Wheel offset is the distance from the cars hub mounting surface of the wheel to the center line (or middle) of the wheel. In most wheels now this distance is measured in millimeters (mm).
If the wheel mounting surface, (the spot on the wheel where the wheel mounts to the brake rotor or hub of the car) is in the very center of the wheel there is 0 offset. If the width of the wheel sticks out (away from the car) a little further than 0 offset it is a positive or plus number (like +15mm). If the width of the wheel sticks in (towards the car) more than 0, it has a negative offset and has a negative number (like -15mm). Most wheels on these cars have some sort of a negative offset, So basically the smaller the negative offset number, the more the wheel will tend to stick out. PM sent |

Might I also ad that we will match or beat any price on anything we carry. ;) |
I guess everyone has jumped on in here, and we also will beat anything, BUT the real question is what are you looking for? Price, brand, style? This is also very important when shopping in my opinion.

hello, I'm also looking for a set of wheels for track use only. My budget is only $1.5k or lower.
I've been looking around this forum for weeks, decided to go with 18" wheels, 9.5 and 10.5, not sure about the offset. Looking for 5 spoke or more wheels. I have a white Z, so any suggestion that looks good on it that fits my budget? thanks |
You can probably buy the enkei Rpf1 I would think and they have 18x9.5 18x10.5, they make a +15 for the rear, and a +15 or +38 for the front, anything else would be too much or too weak.
