TPMS Question
Hey guys, If I get another set of wheels that have tpms already in them, how can I tell the sensors are good and in working order? I want to make sure before I sell my old ones.
Is there a way to eye it? Or do I just go to the dealer and have them coded to my car? If I get the new ones coded to my car, does that mean the old set will stop working? Or can I have 2 sets coded to my car? Thanks in advance! |

I have two sets of rims for my Z (Dedicated winter rims/tires and summer rims/tires) and I have to reset the TPMS two times per year. |
i believe you have to re sync the sensors each time. What kind of car did the new wheels come from. The sensors have to be specific to the car. If you took wheels that were on an 08 350z or a g37 or something they might not work on your 370z.

they were off a 370z jeff. Thanks!
thanks AK, one more question, how much was it to get them coded to your car? |

My last reset was FREE because dealer (another dealer) felt awkward :ugh: taking money from me for a job that took literally 3 minutes! I hope that kinda gave you an idea how easy this job is for the dealer. Ask them if they can do it for you FREE as a courtesy and go from there ;). Good luck. |

thanks again AK, great response time haha |
There is a tool from ATEQ which i am going to buy but i wont really be getting it for like 3 weeks. its
BBS LM Diamond Black w/Mach Lip Scroll to the bottom of that page to see what i'm talking about. Perhaps you'll get it before me and you can be the first 370z to try it. |
there's no way to tell if the sensors are there or good without going to a dealer as well, huh?

You can find a used tool on ebay for 100-250.
