wheel scratch

Is there anyway on repairing this myself without going to the professional? What annoy me is that I can't seem to take out the black out from it. Sorry about the crappy pictures.

The silver OEM wheels are painted. The black is what's underneath the "silver" paint. Unless Nissan has the wheel paint available a professional would do the color matching.

I scratched mine and just had them powder coated to resolve the issue.

I believe that is the dot that lets the balancer know the heaviest point of the wheel, so he can match the lightest point of the tire to it for an overall well balanced combo.

Mine came off with fingernails while washing.

I got a blue dot too! What does it mean?

Most silver wheels... (especially those called Hyper silver) have a base coat of black. The black coat is what gives the silver color its deep definition. It'll probably take a professional to fix that scratch...

Anyone know where one might have aftermarket 20" rims w/chrome lip fixed ? I have some small curb rash and the best i could find was wheels america, and they would ship to Cali, and it would be 4-6 weeks.

Sorry for highjacking this thread for a min.

chrome wheels will have to be stripped and re dipped in chrome if you have gone through the plating on the chrome when you curbed the wheel

Thanks for the inputs. I kinda knew that it was the paint underneath because it wouldn't come off. lol.

Well I'm going to save this problem til I get my wheel powder coated. Hopefully by the end of the year.

I got a rock chip in my rim over the weekend(didnt know this even really happened?) And was alittle confused by the black underneath.. This cleared it up for me though!

I'm not painting them cause of the scratch. I'm painting them because I want black wheels. I still love the wheels that's why I'm not going with a different set.
