Well, I've got 19x9 +24 in front (equivalent to 9.5 +30mm), and I feel I can easily go another 5-10mm's higher on the offset. I think if they were anymore tucked I would have already invested in spacers.

You are correct though, they are not necessary...however if you really like the flush look you will eventually get at least 10mm.
