Bad thread name
The Falken 615K test I also saw earlier today. It's nice to see some more sticky street tire options opening up. The Z was a half second slower then the Mustang around the track but they were also using the heavier roadster instead of the coupe, and oddly skinny tires.

Sorry. I didnt think it was that big of a deal. I enjoy all cars and what they have to offer. For what it is worth I still like the Z better. I have all the respect for what this new mustang can do, but I just cant stand the way it looks. the old hatchbacks are still my favorites. |

Nice vids. I have seen the Mustang drag one but hadn't seen the Falken vid yet. Very cool. I'd like to see the Mustang haters address all that excessive body roll and the ridiculously slow track times on the Mustang.

It's almost 300 lbs heavier than a base. The point of the video was to compare tires, but they didn't make a very good match up between the two cars. For the price of a roadster they could have put a Nismo on the track.

Scroll down to curb weight. I guess it's closer to 275, but still. It still looks like the tires are nice though. |

Actually the curb weight of the 6sp base coupe (I'm guessing without sport package) is listed as 3232 while the curb weight of the 6sp roadster is 3426 so the difference at the base car level is less than 200. The touring package adds 46 to the coupe and 71 to the roadster (likely the different seats) so when the comparing touring versions the roadster weighs in at around 220 more.
One thing that may be confusing the issue is that the roadster requires touring to get the sport package so a base couple with sport does weigh 270 some pounds less than the roadster with sport package
