I had 265/35 front 285/35 rear, some will say it is not enough on the rear which I could have gone bigger.

I think stock is already low enough, everyone says that and i am scraping everywhere. However, it is weird how stock wheels have so much fender gap. U need to drop the car to take out those ridiculous fender gaps!

I wouldn't mind so much if I didn't have the body kit.. But I know for sure I would be scraping the kit if it was lowered more.. My kit lower the front at least half an inch. I gotta watch the parking curbs now...

For the front, which would be a better ride for a daily driver? Now going from 18's to 19's will the speedo be affect alot like 1 mph off? Last edited by Zigen5; 04-25-2010 at 09:38 PM. |

the compound seems to play a lot more into the handling/treadwear. the best compound for racing is not the best for someone who wants to get some life out of their tires. Generally speaking, the better the treadwear rating, the harder the compound, the longer it lasts, the worse it handles. But there is a happy medium and like all things it depends on what your needs are. and what your budget is. i have been recommended the hankook ventus v12 evo. they aren't very expensive/have a good treadwear rating. probably wouldn't be your first choice if you were going to track your car a lot/if you are a professional, but they seem to do the trick. if you aren't going to be tracking your car or driving it that hard, i doubt you will be feeling the shortcomings of a harder compound. However, you will feel your wallet getting thinner when you spend a lot of money on new tires ever 12,000 miles if you go with the best compound.

That was going to be my next question... I've always looked at treadwear when deciding on tires. Is there a happy median? Yokohama s drive has a good treadwear but is it good for performance too?
