The "Will it fit?" thread

Ok let's see here: I am going to make a few assumptions for you. Say your running a 9.5" and 10.5" combo. I would run toyo R888 255/265 up front

I will tell you this a 245 on a 9" wheel will look identical to a stock 19" profile but just a few mm taller in sidewall.

There is sooo much more that goes into picking a tire for me but that's because I know what to look for like tirewall stiffness and multiple compound tread. Actual spec'd size of tire and more...

So all in all you are fine with your choice but if you find yourself digging for that last .1 around the track every bit helps.
Thanks!

I agree. Excellent recommendation for dry-track racing.

So I've decided to get the Hankook V12's in 265/35/19 and 285/35/19 for the Sport rims. Would 15mm F and 20mm R spacers work good for this setup? I'm assuming so, but I figured I'd ask before I ordered anything.

Actually it looks like Hankook doesn't have 265/35/19. What would be my next best choice for fronts then? Should I just fall back to the stock 245/40/19 size?

What is the max set up you can have on the sport rims? Front- 265 or 275? Rear- I'm guessing 305?

Default Rim Fit Question

Hi All,

I am a complete newby and have spent 3 hours online trying to figure out the answer to this questions but still don't know. I hope a few minutes of your time, will provide the answer.

I just bought a 2010 370Z Base. I understand current rims are 18x8 in front and 18x9 in back with 225/50/18 tires. My research tells me that these rims are 5-114.3

I have no intention to go on the track and have fallen in love with some rims which are 5-114, 18", with recommended Tire Size: 215/40-18 . I found some places online that say the difference between 5-114.3 and 5-114 is minor and so as long as you ensure the lugs are tight, you shouldn't have problems. Questions:

1. Will they fit
2. Any problem having same width wheels of both front and back?
3. What will I need to do to adjust the front or back given that the width will be different than the originals?
4. Would I use the recommended tire size of 215/40-18 for he 370Z or use the original 225/50/18 tires or ?

Thanks SOOooo much in advance. This answer will be very helpful.
