wheels will always look like they're poking when lifted
9.5 +25 is a common width/offset range for front

What size of tire will fit
2016 370Z Base model
18x8 F - 18x9 R Currently running 245 40 r18 F and 275 40 r18 R Looking into getting some street radials but don't know if I should or can go a bit wider on the rear on the stock wheels. Thus the reason for the post. Want to go 285 40r18 (0.3" diameter difference) which is okay from the little bit of tire sizing that I understand. But my question is will a 285 fit on 9in wide wheel? Or any recommendations on street radial setup for the stock wheel sizes I have. Thanks in advance. |

Can you run a 285 on a 9" wheel? That is a bit wide for a narrow wheel, but yes it can be done. However, you can't run 245/40 with 285/40. That's over 5% differential in diameter. VDC is not going to like that. Alternatively, you could run 245/40 with 285/35.
A better solution would be to get some wider wheels.

285/40
Rear stock tire size is 245/45 so if im going with a 285/40 its only a 1.06% (0.3")diameter difference according to Fitment industries tire calculator. Not sure at what percentage difference it starts messing with VDC. But yeah main question was that if 285 would fit on 9 in wheel.

Comparing a 285/40 to the stock 245/45 is irrelevant given that you're not running the stock tire size in front. The VDC system starts to get temperamental when the front/rear tire diameter differentials exceed 3%. As I mentioned, a combination of 245/40 and 285/40 will result in a diameter differential of more than 5%.

Can depend on the tire, but Michelin PS4S says 285 should be at least 9.5” wide

Will 275/35/18 fit in the front of 370z?
Hey I am a proud owner of a 2014 Nissan 370z and I am currently looking for tire setups. Will a 275/35/18 tire fit on my front wheel size and front fender without rubbing?
My Front wheel specs: 18x9.5 +15 mm. Last edited by JairoGB; 01-25-2023 at 08:45 PM. |

Got a deal i couldnt pass up on some rays 57cr 18x10.5 +12. Currently has 305 30 19 on stock rays KW coilovers not set low. Trying to find the best option for some stickies for the 18s. Would 315 35 18 fit? Looking at sizing options for the best price and I can't keep it straight what to go with. 295 40 18, 305 35, 295 30 or 315 35/30 ughhh anyone shed some light on this for me?

Base 370z Enkei RPF1
Fronts:
18x9.5 +15 (265/35/18) Rear: 18x10.5 +15 (275/35/18) Coilovers: BC racing DS (Raised the fronts basically at stock height after noticing rubbing, rear dropped about an inch) At 26.25 inches from ground to fender and had some rubbing up front and was bottoming out on speed bumps. This is what I have on my car right now. What can I do to help with clearance and stop rubbing..? Get new wheels, tires, roll fenders, or am i ******? I'd like to be able to get 245/45 in front maybe or 255/40 Rear I'd wonder if 275/40 would fit Thanks Last edited by Duru; 02-24-2023 at 04:27 PM. |

First step is to read this:
Wheel Fitment 101: START HERE Your fronts are more aggressive than your rears. A +22 would be more consistent, and in line with fairly standard 370z aftermarket sizing Additionally, your front tire size is very wide. While a 265 on a 9.5 width wheel is within the acceptable range from the tire mfg, it is pretty “over square” from a fitment standpoint. Even Nissan itself uses a 245 width tire on a 9.5 inch tire (such as on the front of a nismo) I would go down to a 245 front, roll your fenders, and see where you’re at Bear in mind, however, the Z has no front camber adjustment from the factory, so your camber is whatever. At ur ally results from lowering the car and the condition of your bushings. For full, reliable adjustment, you need new front upper control arms, the best option of which are from SPL parts Summary: Easy solution is swapping to a 245 tire and +22 offset wheel Best solution is rolled fenders, adjustable arms. At that point you can run any front wheel you want. For street, I have run a 20x11 +15 front with a 275 and currently run a 20x10 +3 with 255 For track, people regularly run 18x10.5 or 18x11 with a 275 or 285 or even 315 The Z can fit anything, if you do it right

Would it be too crazy to try to get a 245/45/18 and a 275/40/18 on the rpf1s? Im gonna roll the fenders for the fronts, i guess probably the rears if im going to increase the sidewall
Ill do the SPL parts if its really necessary, but wanted to hold off until i save up some more and get more mileage out of stock parts. Last edited by Duru; 03-01-2023 at 10:50 AM. Reason: Added SPL info |
