Then again in running 275/345 so I err on the side of "I can't stand stretch!" Really I'm only trying to illustrate that 245/285 is going to be ricodulcoursly stretched in those rims. With +10 rear you may not want to go all the way to 325 but 305 for sure. |

Not want a stretched look at all, I'm new here thus why I wanted to ask. The wheels I previously purcahsed were 20x10 20x12 and I was going to run a 255/305 on those as the guy before did and they didn't look to stretched. I have no problem going with a 255/305 on these wheels, or even a 265 I just want to fit in the stock fenders without issue. I have coils and rear arms at the moment I will be installing at the same time. I come from the Honda world so I'm use to the smaller 15/16 wheel tire combo.

I also figured since the stock Nismo wheels are only .5 less then the Works I purchased the stretch wouldn't be out of control.
I'm thinking a 265/305 might be the way to go. Last edited by NismozZz; 03-17-2017 at 06:57 PM. |

You'll never get an exact prediction for a specific size (unless you manage to find someone with literally the same setup) because even for the same size among different manufacturers, the tires will not fit the same
For example a Michelin PSS and a Bridgestone S04 both in 245/40/19 will fit differently on a 19x9.5 wheel. This is because they have their own designs, and the tire's shoulder will be more or less rounded or squared off depending on the manufacturer. Some tire companies/models run "wide" while others run "narrow" by a bit For a more or less "square" shoulder, i think a 325/25/20 is right on the money for a 20x12 wheel. A 305 is only 20mm less so you'll get a slightly stretched look (rim edge exposed by tire). This isn't a "problem," so much as aesthetics. Some people freak out when the tire isn't completely covering the rim edge, but thats just them. Others have the entire freakin' mounting surface exposed in a hellaflush setup. And there's everything in between. I think your sizes are fi"ne, assuming you are running a 255/35/20 and 305/30/20

Yea I hear you, I've run tires that are the same width by number but the actual tire was much wider like when I had Kumho XS in a 215, they were much wider then other brands I had on the same wheel in the same size.
I'm going with a 19x10 19x11 wheel setup now, decided to go with 265/305 I think that should be find on the wheels, and tire rack has a close out special on some Continental tires in 265/35/19 and 305/30/19. TE's look great BTW, those or ZE40's will be next for me. |

Also you gotta look at where chase is coming from. See his build thread and he's all about that buldging tire. It's not my cup of tea
When he says ridiculously stretched, that's his valuation.

And I was originally planning 325's but somewhere between that decision and purchase time they became unavailable, so it was either go up or go down. I actually mounted a set of 305 drag radials on my rims and the fit was ok (they run wide) but I would have needed a 10-15mm spacer at least. So it made sense to spend $0.00 and go up to 345 instead of $150 for spacers. Especially as I'm looking for the dig. I think he's well on his way to the larger side of conservative, and that's probably perfect. |

How low is your ~Z~ from stock....getting down there. And yes/Chase is bulging somewhat w/345's on 10.5's...as my 345's on 12's don't. The Invo tires are nearly 1/2" narrower on the section than the PSS's & I wanted to ensure I tucked that 8" of backspacing underneath without spacers. Lightly shaved the huge head from the traction arm bushing & used a button head bolt to secure it.(.25" clearance there & .50"@shock) snug/ but no rubbing,scraping,etc... I'm gonna drop around 1" & maybe a tad more in front; just have to get some SPL parts in first. Plan to keep the same camber setting of -0.75 all 4corners/ as I don't track my car.

I played around & made a large protractor,to determine the amount of wheel lean at a given degree at a given tire height.
Seems like with a 26.5" tall tire; it leans 7mm per degree of camber....I'm sure this could vary a tad,,,but I'll have to see if I can round it up.

looking back & confirming chart,,,almost 1/2" of wheel lean per degree (.47") on a 27" tall tire & (.45") on a 26.25"...shorter tires would be slightly less & slightly more for taller ones.

Hello all! I'm looking at getting a new wheel set up, but I'm not a fitment guru..
I'm looking for a good fit with stock or close alignment, no crazy camber or anything. I have kw v3 coils in the garage but won't drop it much. Only to about 1-2 fingers width of wheel gap. The sizes I'm looking at are 20x9 + 25 & 20x10.5 +15 with 265s in the front and 305s in back but I don't know what aspect ratios to pick, or if this fitment is good. I don't want my wheels to stick out past the fenders at all. Any opinions on this set up? Advice? - thanks in advance!

If you have a particular tire brand/model in mind-that would help,as they all differ somewhat on fitment. TireRack perform's a measurement on a suggested wheel width size & then gives you a range...The 265/305 in 35/30's are 27.3"/27.2" tall in a Michelin & the same 265/305 in 30/25's are 26.3"/26.0" tall (slightly more negative rake)...both of these tires were measured on a 9.5/11.0" wheel. In Michelin; A 255/35,295/30 are both 27.0" tall & measured on a 9/10.5" wheel. So you get to choose on what you like.....w/4.08 gearing out back;i'd personally stay with the taller-closer to oem diameter rubber. Hope this help's,as i run 26.8"F/27.2"R on mine w/19" wheels.......it's all in what you like/as with oem camber & your wheel spec's-you should not poke.
