Default Will high sidewall fit in rear?

Hi all, I have a 2011 Nismo (weekend warrior and track days) and would like to put on 285/40 on back and 245/35 on front in order to throw a little bit more car weight onto the front wheels. The front is not a concern but the back is questionable. Does anyone know if the extra 14mm around will cause issues with the wheel well? And please let me know if your information is based on experience...I have researched this to death and am still scared I will end up with an $800 "tarp weight" (giant paper weight).

Where you at in Pa? What you need is a bigger swaybar on the front.

I'm in Morgantown PA...I read your entire journal...you still near Pittsburgh? Front sway, perhaps I will consider it. I am hoping I will be getting an SC this summer so I held off on a few other upgrades for fear it would interfere or be irrelevant with SC install.

why not go with RE-11s and 285/35 R and 245/40 F?

its the widths you wanted, the overall diameter is only .2" larger in the R

I have 285/35 on rear now and 245/40 on front now. Want to transfer bit more of weight on rear wheel up to front. One way to do that is to raise the rear a bit and lower the front a bit. I'm not sure the significant of the RE-11. I have no problem switching from Yokos to Pirelli or Michellin, or any other brand that has the size, but I question the fit as going from 35 to 40s in rear will put rubber 14mm closer to fenderwell and will raise the rear by 28mm couple that with the reduction of the front tires should produce a little less understeer.

I was just wondering if anyone tried 40s. If not, I will consider going wider on front to promote more traction up front while retaining same on back...bit that is not my first choice.

The tire combination you want to run may be too much difference in tire height. 245/35-19 is 26.7". The 285/40-19 is 28.0" That might upset the computer. You might want to rethink this. Keeping the stock Nismo rims. You can go 285/35-19 (26.9) front and 295/35-19 (27.1) rear. You would be almost a square set-up.

Be ready to disable any factory ABS or Traction control completely; That's a 2"+ taller tire in rear?
