Brand of tire will make big difference. Your tire specs are 25.8" diameter...about 1" shorter than stock & will stretch somewhat on that sized wheel. More popular sizes are 265/35

So for next years autocross season I'm thinking of buying another set of rear sport rays and running them on the front with a true square setup, nitto nt01 305/30r19 tires. I've run 295 Hoosiers with no rubbing on the front Rays - think the Nitto setup would work?? Has anyone run the rears on the front with a meaty tire?

Even further, if all four wheels on the vehicle were identical, this would allow "put it anywhere" flexibility when it comes to tire rotation. (BTW, IMO, these Pilot A/S tires would be more appropriate for both Edmonton's possible-snow-in-any-month climate, as well as for my wife's and my rather sedate driving.) I suppose I could buy two additional fronts to have all four wheels as fronts, so I have to make a hopefully informed decision about this and that is why I'm writing. The front and rear Rays wheels that came with the vehicle have different, for lack of a better expression, "dish depth". That is, the outside edge of each rim is a different distance from the inner surface of the rim that the lug nuts secure to the wheel hub. I'm guessing that this means that if rear wheels are put on the front, the outside edge of the rim might stick out beyond the outside edge of the wheel / fender well. If that is true, then the opposite would probably be true for putting front wheels on the rear -- the wheel might be sunk inside that rear wheel well a bit. However, in this case, I suppose that some kind of spacer could be used to bring the edge of the wheel exactly where the wider wheel would have been. I'd appreciate any advice on which way to go. Thanks. |

I know I am a repeat "offender" on this thread, but I am really trying to hone in on the right wheel and tire combo. Every time I change wheels, I have to rethink the tires to go with them. Whatever wheels I put on the car will be on there for a looonnnng time, so I spend a lot of time mulling over the choices.
Thinking of going with 20x10.5 +35 with 295/25r20s in front 20x11.5 +20 with 325/25r20s in back I am 100% sure the back will fit. My concern is about the width up front (since the diameter is smaller than stock). Car will be on coilovers with all the associated arms/links to make it work. I am 99% sure the front is ok, especially after reading the previous posts but I like the forum gurus to chime in; it makes me feel better. Anyone have a concern? |

OK, I had to go & crawl my fatass under my ~Z~ with will turned to lock left.
pending mine is a base model with +43 8" front wheels. my wheel backspacing is 6.21" & when i measure 1" above the rim lip (imitating a 20" wheel) i easily have 1" of space...probably closer to 30mm. Therefore/ upon my personal findings...i would be willing to say that you can go up to a +40 offset 10.5" wheel,,,that would be 7.333" backspacing & 4.167" front spacing. Not sure what you have now...but tire maker will definitely play a huge role in this. "Safe-Mode" would probably be between +32 & +38; you may have nailed it with +35? curious to see your outcome,,,,would be cool to have some test fit wheels. Be sure & show off what you decide.

I bought a 2013 second hand z that already had aftermarket rims on it. The rims are ok, but my front tire looks bigger than the rear. How can I improve the look of this? Should I just ditch the wheels and start over?
Front: 20x8.5 offset 20. 245 35 20 Rear: 20x10 offset 25. 275 30 20 (rear tires are further under the car than the front, looks funny) 2nd- can I put 305 30 on the rear 10" rim? Thanks Last edited by joshdr; 09-27-2015 at 05:15 PM. |

that's a 27.2" tire...your front's are 26.8" A 295/30 is 27" and has just over an 11" tread on the Michelin PSS tire

Guys, I need some help in the "will it fit with spacers big enough to clear my BBK".
I have Maya STMs in: Front - 19x90 offset +30, Rear - 19x105 offset +29. That's what the label reads. Tape measure reads more like 10" and 11". I have the APRacing BBK currently, tried to put the fronts on, not enough caliper clearance. like a good 1/4" off. I also read a thread stating I'd need spacers so they'd fit flush with the fenders anyway. I'm really bad with wheels and tires. Can someone tell me what spacers I would need to make these flush with my fenders on a 2011 370z base model? Hopefully that's enough clearance for my BBK. Really appreciate it. Jenova |
