painted wheels?
Need someone's knowledge on this, I really like the look of the 40th annv wheel. I was just thinking of powder coating but my dealer advised against it and said they have someone that uses a wheel paint (wording he used). I don't know anything about this paint beside what the dealer said.
Has anyone ever heard/used this before? The dealer sound very convincing about this paint for the durability and looks. Is this better/worse then PC'ing? |

Never heard of it. Powder coat is a very durable solution. Auto paint with nice clear coat is all you need. Nothing is going to save the wheel from a curb check!
Mine are being painted at the moment with a modified version of the platinium graphite k51 paint code with style. Look in my SSR SP3 wheels thread for updates by this weekend!

I have painted two sets of wheels. One set I had for over three years with no issues. While it may not be a permanent solution three years is a pretty good amount of time for a few hours labor and about $15.

Can't say I recomend spray painting them. Maybe if it is just a black color but thats just my 2 cents.
