Well, call me crazy, but Im thinking about going with the same set up(305/30-19) for the rear tires. I dont need new tires because I only have about 1600 miles

Well, call me crazy, but Im thinking about going with the same set up(305/30-19) for the rear tires. I dont need new tires because I only have about 1600 miles on my car, but I like the look of a fatter tire.
Has anyone had any issues with this set up? Can you tell a big difference from in how wide the 305 campared to the 275 tire? Tell me if Im wrong, but with the tire calculator, it appears that my speedo will only be off by less than 1 mile an hour. |

Nubz,
The 305 will be approximately 30mm wider mounted on the wheel. A few guys are running 275 front and 305 rear on the factory Sport wheels with no issue. I think when it's time to replace my street tires I may as well go 275/305 instead of OEM sizing.

it seems like 305 might be overkill from a functional standpoint based on how much power our car has (not that much). as far as looks, they look awesome.

Yeah it is probably over kill from a functional standpoint, but Im just going for looks for now. Can you really tell that much of a differnece in width of the tire with the 305's?

They are a pretty big difference. Take a look at The Dreamer's build thread... he's got a pic in there of a 275 sitting right next to a 305.

No problemo. 305s will look pretty sweet on the back. Just make sure you go wider up front too to maintain a stagger similar to OEM.

Yeah, people have been fitting 275/35/19s up front with no issues rubbing. You wouldn't want to go any wider than that, though.
