Curbed my TE37 Time Attacks... Suggestions (Pics)
 

After almost a year of being extremely overly cautious, it finally happend...

I curbed my Volk TE37 custom Time Attacks. Any suggestions on a fix? I realize to fix them properly would probably be a big undertaking (and probably very expensive). But at the same time, touch up paint may look very poor (especially since matching perfectly would be very tough).

I'm open to any suggestions on getting this taken care of. Not sure the best way to handle this... Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Find a wheel repair shop around your area. They will have a better idea what can and can't be done.

wow that sucks bad man, i would have been punching the steering wheel in a temper tantrum.

wow you really went at that curb. that's pretty deep...i agree, head to a wheel repair shop.

It shouldnt be hard to fix by a decent wheel place. Probably going to have to re-paint and re-pinstripe those two wheels after they fix them though... not going to be the cheapest thing in the world and considering they are volk ta's...the shop is not going to have much mercy on your wallet either.

Check tristatetuners (or any local car forum), might be able to find a decent reputable wheel repair shop.

if you were willing to repaint the entire wheels that wouldn't be a hard fix. Some filler primer and a little sanding to smooth it out will fix the shape. If it's too deep for primer you could use some JB Quick weld to fill it then sand that down to achieve a stronger filler than primer.

Only thing would be no way to "perfectly" match the original paint so you would prob have to repaint all 4 wheels. Not hard, but very time consuming to do correctly by hand. I'm 10 hours in on repainting my wheels and have only cleaned, sanded and applied 3 coats of primer and black paint. Looks great so far but I still have 3 coats of black, 6 coats of white and 6 coats of clear left to go.

For a single color with pin stripe I'd expect to spend about 20 or so hours and about $100-150 in supplies to do it correctly.

Yeah, I vaguely remember hitting it pretty hard... very poor decision to drive that night...

Thanks for the input. I'll be researching a few somewhat local wheel shops. Not too much in my town tho.

red pinstripe for a quick fix. I had a wheel shop fuk my gold advans. The entire outside was shot. I took some black pinstripe and went around the whole rim. Looked better then raw metal.

Above just a quick fix and prob. less then 150 per wheel :D

If you can't find a local place, then the best option might be to ship the wheel out.

That's definitely fixable. Find a reputable wheel repair shop in your area and take it there. As far as the matching goes, they should be able to match it to your stock color. If you don't like it, ask if you can take it back. Shouldn't cost you more than $200-300 to fix. DONT TRY TO FIX IT YOURSELF!
