Volk RE30 in 18"
I have an 09' touring, non sport model with stock 18"s. I came across a really strong deal for new Volk's RE30 in 18" setup. Should i do it just to improve the looks? Or if upgrading bug is upon me, is it smarter to bump up to 19s and get the whole kit, e.g. wheels, tires and spacers? If the later, I will hold off until my oem tires are done....which will take a while at my pace of 200 miles p/month. The deal on the 18s is really good, so that is the only reason i'm entertaining the idea of just replacing the wheels. Give me your 2 cents.

I say stick with 18's if you don't feel a need to go 19. I'm on 18's and they look good to me. Everytime I hit a pothole (I try to miss them but sometimes you just can't) I have 1/2" more tire protecting the rim. Grab the deal. My :twocents:

I'd stick to 18s as well.

Depends on the sizes of the wheels and the deal. I personally would go 19 and if you did there would be no need for spacers as the 19x10 19x11 fit flawlessly !

Yeah. What are the widths/offsets for the 18" wheels? It makes no sense to pick up a set for ridiculously cheap if the sizes are something lame like 18x7.5 +50.

RE30 = 18X10.5 +15 18X9.5 +22 both in L2. Both will clear the bigger calipers on the Z34. Since both are L2...then both will have a similar lip on front and back...as well as spoke angles I believe.
Would be a good choice for track usage. Light and very strong. Track tires are abundant in this rim diameter. |
do it and take a picture! i've yet to see 18" RE30s on the z34. I recently "downgraded" to the oem 18s from my oem sport pkg 19" rays. I got flamed by some but honestly, I love it so much more than the 19s. The 19s rode harsh, made a lot more noise, were much heavier (even tho they are forged) so the car feels a lot more nimble on its feet now, and absorbed potholes horribly. 19s look a whole lot better tho, but I think if you pull it off right, you'll be fine. RE30s are super lightweight and I'd love to rock a set one day in 18s.
