Default Wheels Specialist Advice Needed...

Hi, i just ordered a set of wheels moments ago for my 370z Sports package. After some talks with the dealer these were what they recommended:

Front: 19x10 +38 72mm Deep
Rear: 19x11 +36 97mm Deep

Im not that well knowledgeable on offsets but do you think these specs would fit nicely on the 370z without the tires rubbing on the fenders and do you think the wheels wont have any contact with the brake calipers?

Would appreciate if you would like to give comments or any other suggestions on the offsets.

Thanks!

The rim sizes are fine but the offsets could be a little weak.

Typically we have found with a regular disk face you can run a 19 x 10 +22 up front and 19 x 11 +0 rear... Now tire selection is what really is going to determine your offsets. Go look at the HELLA FLUSH guys running 11" wide rims with 245 series tires!!! the outside walls of the tire look like "/ \" vs "( )" thus giving them more room for offset and camber. I have seen offsets on 350z's as low as 10 -32!!! We have bigger wheel wells than they do!

The first step is figuring out what size tires do you want to run.

Then you want to determine the "pad" height and face type to clear your brakes.

Once we know that we can look at what others have done in the past for offsets such as +22 up front and +0 in the rear.

The best thing to do is to ask VIP-Status and other vendors what would best fit your ride.

Thanx Bullitt ... +1 rep for you ^____^ i've PM Vip-Status hopefully would get some feedback soon.. with those rim width these would be my range of tires selection:

Probable front tires: 245/40 to 255/40 19
Probable rear tires: 285/35 to 305/40 19

My preference is just having the deepest dish possible without problems of rubbing on the fenders nor the brakes..

I understand that with the offset of +36 at the rear would give me a 97mm deep dish.. So if i were to change the offset to +0 it would give me more lips is it?

depending on your face type if you went with a +0 rear or -1 on a regular face wheel it would net you a 122mm lip rear. I believe that is the max they run but I am checking into that to see if they go deeper

hahaha I PM'd Rick yesterday about this type of setup as well. I have a BBK so I am trying to get as low of a disk face but still gain the deep dish look.

Your tire range is completely valid and spot on! if you are going for pure looks i say get the 20's but if you want to maintain low weight performance stay with the 19's. I am going to go with 20's

I don't know. I'm nowhere close to being a "wheel specialist", but I'll throw in some information anyways. As far as wheel size/offset goes, you can pretty much throw any reasonably sized wheel you want onto your Z. The thing that changes this generalization is the tire size you're looking for. What are you willing to do to get the stance you want? I mean, I could fit 18x9.5 +22 onto a Honda Civic. Stock size is 17x7 +45. Do the math haha. Now apply that to the 370z. Your possibilities are endless.

Man if you're looking to use that tire size and you want a good fit then probably 19x10 +25-30 and 19x11 +20 at the most..maybe a +15 would work but you would have to adjust camber probably.

I have F:19x9.5 +22 255/35/19 tires and R:19x10.5 +15 305/30/19 tires and I think I'm pretty flush and I run stock camber. I could do a little more in the rear like a +10 offset but still, looks good to me.

IMO

If you are only lowering an inch or less and want little to no rubbing

Front 19x10 +30 with 255/40/19
Rear 19x11 +22 with 305/30/19

I am currently using the following lowered an inch

Front 19x9.5 +24 with 255/40/19
Rear 19x11 +24 with 285/35/19

I think the front is perfect, the rear is near perfect but has room for another 2-4 mm with -1.8 degrees in camber. I'm putting 305's on for the next set of tires.

If you want pics of what mine looks like, you can check my albums under "new wheels". I've had compliments on the offset fitment of my wheels at pretty much any meet i've been at.

Like everyone has mentioned camber is a big factor... I am running -3.3degrees of camber with my setup but I also have BBK Disk fitment and a +0 offset on 305's... really it comes down to what you want. The bigger you go the more camber and toe will be involved.

If you want some more clearance for the front, you can roll the front fenders and trim the fender lining. Also, you might want to relocate the bumper tab (which is outrageously thick compared to other cars I've seen). It cleared up a lot of room for me. Yeah. The ridiculously high offset for the stock wheels in the front really bugged me so I just HAD to do something about it. Currently running 18x10 +15 in the front haha.

i forgot to tell the specs given by the local dealer is
Front: 19x10 +38 Dish Deep 72mm A disk
Rear: 19x11 +36 Dish Deep 97mm O disk

Do you guys know whats the A and O disk stands for?

& Oh... im getting few numbers now... Im confused already... haha

Bullitt suggested:
F: 19 x 10 +22
R: 19 x 11 +0

B1nks suggested:
F: 19 x 9.5 +22
R: 19 x 10.5 +15 or +10

Caravanshaka suggested:
F: 19 x 10 + 30
R: 19 x 11 + 22

& OMGWTFBBQ suggested using 18s?

So which one shall it be? hmm

Are you opposed to camber? If yes follow stats like caravan or b1nks suggested but if your fine with using camber then go with my suggestion. A disk stands for a normal face and O disk stands for aggressive face.

Go with bullitt's suggestion. We're thinking on the same wavelength.

To fit aggressive wheels, just add a little camber and stir until perfection. (Well, other things included, but we'll leave that out of this discussion)

ya, but running 3 degrees of camber on a daily driver isn't really an option. I drive 15-20k miles a year...with that camber I'd be going through 2-3k worth of tires annually.

Hey I DD my car and in 6 months put 13K miles on it on stock tires. The best I have ever seen out of a set of Sport tires is 15K miles tops with camber like this I was seeing 12-14k miles. Knowing the right amount of "TOE" in will help save the life of tires. Currently I am running a total of .20 toe in on the rear tires and will probably increase that to .30 toe in.

ya, I'm not as savvy as you are with suspension settings, and I never track the car...so I'm happy with 1.8 camber and not having to worry about premature tire wear

Pretty good if you can get 15k out of the bridgestones with that setup though!
