powdercoating wheels.
should I sandblast the stock rims before powdercoating? cuz I checked a couple of places some say to sandblast other say not to.. that its not necessary.

wetsanding is good enough. Are you doing them yourself? If not, let the shop decide. If there are any problems in the future, they should cover it. I know that I give a lifetime warranty if something I coat fails.
I bought a brand new set of painted wheels for my corvette to use for track wheels. I powdercoated them with zero prep, other than wiping down with alcohol. I would never do that on a customers wheel, but I like to test things with my stuff. Through 3 sets of tires, changed out at dealership, and at least 15 track weekends, the coating is holding up perfectly. |

nono not me.. ill have the shop do that if its necessary.. the front & rear driver side which I scraped backing up from a drive through some time ago...hopefully gets fixed.
