the camera is mounted to a rig setup that is attached to the car so that the camera and car move at the same speed. camera is then set on lowest ISO and smallest aperture (usually in combo with a circular polarizer or neutral density filter to kill a bunch of light) to make the shutter speed as long as possible, in this case 6 seconds iirc, then push the car from out of sight, in this case it was me pushing on the back driver corner, this creates the illusion of the high speed. the longer the shutter speed, the more sense of motion is transfered in the picture. since i am blocked from flickr here at work i can't post it but there's a video shows how we did this shot, it's pretty lulz too

i'm the dude in the green jacket in that video, but i was the one pushing the car in the photo sharif posted :) (not the same picture, we redid it a few mins later for a longer shutter)

He stated last page he powder coated them, but they originally LE.

^^oh for a second there I thought he had those knock off ebay volks...I cant remember the name of them.

Powder coated LE's......hmm seems like a bad idea.
